Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #233

Welcome to another Sisterhood Saturday!!!!  We have a fun new prompt for you and I'm loving the juxtaposition of the prompt with our theme of snark.

Flowery Snark.  Interesting, isn't it?

I dug into my stash and came across a sarcasm fitting any subject and this floral vase was just the ticket.

I had to do some creative masking of the vase in order to insert the sentiment where it could be easily read.  The flower is a multistep stamp.  I colored the vase with Copics.  I ended up with a smudge on the outer edge of my card panel, hence the popped up frame.  (Happy Accident and all that.)  I added some pretty pearls before calling this one done.

Supplies:
Altenew - Golden Garden stamp set
Altenew - Versatile Vases stamp set
PaperTrey Ink - Offbeat Birthday stamp set
MFT - Stitched Rectangle frame dies

We would love to see your Snarky Floral creations in the gallery.  Stef is joining us as Reigning Queen with a card you'll definitely enjoy.

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Seize the Birthday #260

It's time once again to Seize the Birthday!!!  Our new (optional) topping is perfect for birthday celebrations.

I always love seeing balloons tied to mailboxes in my neighborhood because it means someone is celebrating something good in their lives.  I tried to recreate that feeling in my card.

I usually start with white die cuts but today wasn't a day I felt like coloring so I chose colored cardstocks and opted out of any shading.  (I think I "got away" with it this time.)  I did some blending in the bottom right corner to ground my assembled image and I think it added just the right amount of additional interest.  I opted for a heart shaped balloon since the (mixed manufacturer) sentiment is of love themed in nature.

Supplies:
MFT - Mailbox die
MFT - Heart Balloon die
The Greetery - PreText Sentiment stamp set
Honeybee Stamps - Thanks a Bunch stamp set

I invite you to visit our blog for more inspiration.  We'd love to see your card in our gallery.  Remember, our toppings are always optional but do remember to make it a birthday card.

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Spellbinders Sneak Peek #2

I'm back today with another set of cards created by products from Spellbinders latest release using an amazing butterfly embossing folder which I've paired with other Spellbinder products from my stash.

I paired the folder with a large die from an older DOTM club as well as a newly released stamp set.  I love the mix of woodgrain kraft with gold metallics.  It's hard to see in my mediocre photograph but this is a beautiful combination.

For my second card I used a coral colored cardstock for the embossed background and added a different mix of Spellbinder products from my stash.  I edged this one in gold embossing powder for a tiny border that I think sets the design off nicely.

I was unable to find links to all of my products.  Some are definitely older and may be retired but I've listed the product names below.

Supplies:
Spellbinders - Elegant Twist Circle dies
Spellbinders - Floral Bouquet die set
Spellbinders - Bonjour die set

Many thanks to Yana and Spellbinders for the nod!

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Color Hues #62

Cindy has chosen our next color duo for the Color Hues challenge that begins right now!  Up next....Purple and Green!

You've "heard" me moan a gazzilion times, I am NOT a fan of purple.  In fact, just the opposite is true.  But over the years I've discovered that the magenta side of purple has some appeal so that's the hue I will always choose.

I began with a group of white die cuts and my "magenta" shades of Copics.  I also opted to go with a more olive tone for my leaves.  (Again...it's a HUE challenge so pick your favs.)  I fanned the florals out in a pleasing arrangement and then adhered them to the top right corner of my panel.  As you can see, I left many of them white for some added layering and interest.  The sentiment is one large stamp so that was super simple to do.

Supplies:
Cottage Cutz - Season Floral 1 die set
Honeybee Stamps - Thanks a Bunch stamp set

I invite you to join us over at the Color Hues blog where you'll see lots of Purple and Green inspiration from our DT.  I do hope to see your card in our gallery!

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Spellbinders Sneak Peek!

Spellbinders kindly sent me some goodies to play with before their official release which I believe starts today.

Today's post features the two cards I created using the new Stylish Oval Birthday Wishes stamp set.  As amazing as the floral stamp is, it's the set of fabulous sentiment stamps that really has my heart.  They are so spot on with the types of cards I create.

First up is a blue version.  It's basic stamping with Copic coloring.  I cut the panel down and added some diagonal patterned papers and pearls.  I really love the look of this.

My second card uses the same stamp set but this time colored in yellows and oranges.  I used an arch die to create the panel and added a bit of black cardstock along with bottom to mimick a cloche.  I really love how this one turned out as well.

I haven't managed to figure out the affiliate links quite yet but will point you in the right direction should you wish to purchase this stamp set.  I should mention that it's all one stamp so there was no masking involved.  Love that!

Supplies:
MFT - Diagonal stripes 6x6 paper pad
Pink Fresh Studio - Braided Tag die set

Many thanks to Yana and Spellbinders for the nod.  I'll be back next week with some cards featuring their beautiful new butterfly embossing folder.

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Seize the Birthday #259

It is officially Happy Hour at the Seize the Birthday challenge!!!  Everyone deserves a toast on their birthday and we are hoping to fill our gallery with lots of good cheer.

I began with the large stamped sentiment and the smaller sub sentiment.  I made sure to leave just the right amount of white space below to adhere the die cut wine glass and cute braceleted wrist.  As you can see, I chose burgandy as my color because I prefer reds over whites.  Ha!

Supplies:
MFT - How to Say Cheers stamp set
MFT - wine glass dies

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #232

It's another Sisterhood Saturday and boy do we ever have an obscure prompt for you to tackle.  And I say "tackle" because I really, really struggled with this one and my interpretation is a very broad one.

So you are no doubt asking yourself just how my old bitty relates to astrology.  Well....after stamping out my old broad I hand drew the scales underneath, colored her with Copics and then fussy cut directly along with stamped/drawn edges so I could paper piece her to this funky panel of designer paper.  But again....where is this going?

Have you figured it out?  LOL!  Well, I'm a Libra.  Libra's symbol is the Scales of Justice and nothing is more UNjust than a set of bathroom scales.  ta-da!  So that's the twisted backstory to my card....and the inner workings of my mind.

Supplies:
Art Impressions - Get Well stamp set
Art Impressions - Never Too Old to Laugh stamp set

We would love to see your Snarky Bunny creations in the gallery.  Fran is joining us as Reigning Queen with a card you'll definitely enjoy.

Happy Little Stampers - April Christmas Challenge

It's time for another round of Christmas cards with the Happy Little Stampers challenge group.  This month we'd love to see Jingle Bells displayed on your card however any holiday theme qualifies.

I combined metallic die cuts with an embossed white panel to create my "Look Mom! No stamping!" card.  I'm really liking the combination of matte gold and shiny copper and if I'd had more time I definitely would have loved to create multiples of this one.  It's very pretty in real life.

Supplies:
PaperTrey Ink - joy die
Impression Obsession - bell dies
Simon Says Stamp - Layered Vines embossing folder

I invite you to visit our blog for more holiday inspiration.  We'd love to see your card in our gallery.  Remember, the prompts are always optional but remember that only holiday cards qualify.

Color Hues #61

In case you missed my first post of the morning, let me wish you all a Happy April Fool's Day once again.  The card in this post was created for the new Color Hues challenge using our new duo of Peach and Kraft brought to you by Stef.

I combined two different tones of kraft cardstock for my card panel and netting.  I added a bit of inking to the ends of the sand dollar before popping it up on the netting.  The sentiment is heat embossed in copper and the pearls add just the right finishing touch to this fun little beachy thank you.

Supplies:
Reverse Confetti - Sand Dollar die set
Reverse Confetti - Sentimental Sayings stamp set
Altenew - Twigtastic die
Trinity Stamps - Pearl Perfection gems

I invite you to join us over at the Color Hues blog where you'll see lots of Peach and Kraft inspiration from our DT as well as our special guests.  I do hope to see your card in our gallery!

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #231

Happy April Fool's Day from the Sisterhood!  Edna is kicking off the spring season with a new prompt.  Any guesses?

A couple of hints.  It's not Pun nor Chicken.  LOL!

As you can clearly see, I took an entirely different approach to Bunny.

I combined two stamp sets to create my scene.  All chicken elements are from an Ellen Hutson set.  The bunny was snagged from an old Greeting Farm set.  All that was required was some simple stamping, coloring and one bit of fussy cutting for the bunny's egg which I popped up over top of the bunny's body.  I'm calling this an Offbeat Easter Card.

Supplies:
Ellen Hutson - Good Egg stamp set
The Greeting Farm - Eggstra Special stamp set
