Seize the Birthday #258

Today's card is celebrating spring birthdays as it fits the theme of our new Seize the Birthday challenge topping.  I found myself scurrying once again to get caught up after weeks of traveling so simple is the name of the game today.

Fortunately I placed this stamp set out on my crafty desk before leaving so I knew exactly what to create when I returned.  I used a multi-step stamp set to create the florals.  I currently have the most gorgeous lilies blooming outside my front door so I used a similar color palette for my design.  I added a narrow border of cardstock and popped the main panel up on the embossed card front using fun foam.  As per my usual, I added in a sprinkling of clear droplets to finish it off.

Supplies:
PaperTrey Ink - Botanical Silhouttes stamp set
PaperTrey Ink - unlabeled cover die (background embossing)
Distress Oxide ink

I invite you to visit our blog for more inspiration.  We'd love to see your card in our gallery.  Remember, our toppings are always optional but do remember to make it a birthday card.

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #230

Put on your Snarky Pants!  It's another Sisterhood Saturday where our theme for this upcoming fortnight is Yuck.

The sentiment continues on the inside....

I figured this could work as either a Humorous
Get Well card or a Snarky Birthday card.  I love options!

As you can see, this is a fairly simple card.  I stamped the image in a Copic friendly ink and then colored it in with alcohol markers.  I used my favorite crisp black pigment ink to stamp the sentiment.  Finally I matted the panel with a very narrow margin of gray cardstock and popped it up with fun foam for some dimension.

Supplies:
Art Impressions - Get Well stamp set
Two Lips - Shit Yourself stamp set

So what's Yuck look like in your book?  The Sistahs and Queen Beverly are looking forward to seeing your creations in our gallery!

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Color Hues #60

My teammate Marcia has chosen the wonderfully fun color combination of Blue and Turquoise for our newest Color Hues challenge.  Check it out!

I can't seem to get enough of these awesome 3D embossing folders.

I used shades of blue and turquoise alcohol inks to create a marbled effect on Yupo paper which I then die cut to create the main lettering.  I embossed a white panel of cardstock which I layered over a white card base, added the large alphas, a heat embossed subsentiment and lots of blue/turquoise colored pearl gems.  And I have lots of that awesome alcohol ink background for a future project.

Supplies:
Hello Die - if you know the manufacturer please leave me a comment below.  Thanks!
Clearly Besotted - Tiny Type sentiment stamp set
Simon Says Stamp - Layered Vine embossing folder
Ranger - alcohol inks

I invite you to join us over at the Color Hues blog where you'll see lots of Blue and Turquoise inspiration from our DT as well as our special guests.  I do hope to see your card in our gallery!

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Seize the Birthday #257

The Seize the Birthday team has a new challenge for you to try, courtesy of DT member Linda.  Her topping of choice this fortnight is "Card for a Child."

I have a confession to make. I created this from remnants I found on my desk, including the previously stamped sentiment panel.  I thought the whimsy would totally work for a child however I sincerely hope I never forget a child's birthday.  This is going to an adult girlfriend whose birthday I did forget.  Hopefully you can glean some inspiration from it nontheless.

The panda and hat were stamped and fussy cut out.  The background uses the inlay die cut technique and the panel was die cut using a lacey border die.  A few pink gems were sprinkled around for interest.

Supplies:
Simon Says Stamp - Party Like a Panda stamp set
Ellen Hutson - Pattern Die combo
Gina Marie - Pleated Lace Rectangle die set

I invite you to visit our blog for more inspiration.  We'd love to see your card in our gallery.  Remember, our toppings are always optional but do remember to make it a birthday card.

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

I used two different holiday die sets, an embossed background and some tiny hearts to create my card.  It was super simple to make yet it has a touch of elegance to it.

Supplies:
Cottage Cutz - Holiday Cocoa die set
Cottage Cutz - Happy Ho Ho Ho die set
Altenew - Checkered Diamonds embossing folder

I invite you to visit our blog for more holiday inspiration.  We'd love to see your card in our gallery.  Remember, the prompts are always optional but remember that only holiday cards qualify.

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #229

It's time for another Saturday with the Sisterhood!  We have a very fun and versatile prompt for this fortnight so we hope to see lots of wonderful creations in our gallery.  You know I like to make you guess so think "big picture" on this one.

If you guessed Ink you're a genius.  :-)

My card today is very CAS, involving only basic stamping, coloring and a few clear gems.  My coloring was inspired by Joe Sysavath who goes by vjsjoey on Instagram.  Yana has also done similar non-blending coloring in the past as well.  It sure makes coloring an image super simple and with today's prompt of Ink, I thought it would add some whimsy to the design.

Supplies:
Picket Fence Studios - That's Just Flocking Great stamp set
Ellen Hutson - clear droplets

Whether you go wild with the ink or take a more subtle approach as myself, I look forward to seeing your cards in our gallery Come play along!

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Color Hues #59

Happy March 1st everyone!  It's time for a new color combination from the team over at the Color Hues Challenge Blog.  Our current color duo was chosen by Carol who is our host this fortnight and she's chosen a combination that's perfect for St. Patrick's Day cards.  I don't usually cards for this occasion so I went with a generic spring theme.

I thought the Hey Girl sentiment would work for just about any occasion/event, including birthday and thinking of you.

I began with the embossed white background and the die cut greenery which I adhered to the bottom of the card panel.  The gold butterfly is adhered with a bit of gold thread underneath and the die cut sentiment was adhered just above the stem line.  Lots of wonderful white space but yet just enough texture to keep it from being too boring.

Supplies:
Penny Black - Garden Edges die
Cottage Cutz - Garden Stems die
Simon Says Stamp - Blossom Field embossing folder
Crafters Companion - butterfly die
Honeybee Stamps - Gal Pal stamp and die

I invite you to join us over at the Color Hues blog where you'll see lots of Green and Gold inspiration from our DT as well as our special guests.  I do hope to see your card in our gallery!

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!
