Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers # 237

It's another Sisterhood Saturday and today we have a very fun and versatile prompt that I think everyone will love.  Any guesses from my card?

If you guessed fringe you'd be wrong.
  LOL!
 Our new prompt is Ombre'.

I gathered up black and gray cardstocks from my stash, cut them into strips and then used my very old fringe scissors to snaz them up a bit.  I adhered them to the upper and lower portions of my card panel in opposite directions for additional interest.  The center strip was stamped with my chosen sentiment and then flanked by narrow strips of black cardstock.  Ombre' pearls provided the final touch.  The look of shading that appears on the top half of the fringe is all an optical illusion as they are the same as the bottom ones.  Weird, huh?

Supplies:
Technique Tuesday - Sassy Birthday stamp set
Martha Stewart - fringe scissors
assorted black/gray cardstocks and pearls

I'm excited to see your beautifully ombre'd (is that a word??) colors so I encourage you to check out the blog where we have Queen Beverly joining us once again.  We all love a good snark but it's not a prerequisite to enter.

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Seize the Birthday #264

It's time for another Topping over at the Seize the Birthday challenge blog where Cathy is our hostess.  As such she had the honor of choosing our next prompt and it's perfect for personalized birthday cards.  I took a very subtle approach when creating my card.

It just so happened that my daughter celebrated her 22nd birthday this past Sunday so I was able to incorporate a DT assignment in her card design.  (Stay tuned...you'll see another example of this coming very soon.)

She is a plant lover and one of her favorite scents is lavender and whadayaknow?  I just so happen to have a set of dies for that.  Ha!  The florals and pots were all die cut from white cardstock and colored with alcohol markers.  The background was made easy through the use of designer paper.  I added her age to the plant spike and a double gold frame for some understated elegance.  The birthday greeting was stamped on the inside panel.

Supplies:
Cottage Cutz - Christmas Floral die set
Spellbinders - Lavender die set
Cottage Cutz - Leafy Vine die set
Altenew - Fine Frame die set
Craft Consortium - 6x6 designer paper
Avery Elle - alpha stamps

She loved her card and I hope you do as well.  Please stop by the blog and check out the fabulous inspiration from my teammates as well as our Guest Designer Bonnie.

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Color Hues #66

Karen is our host this Color Hues challenge and she's chosen the very summery color combination of Yellow and Green.  My foggy brain as of late went with the obvious theme of lemons, but with a twist.  (Catch that?  Ha!)

My twist?  The stamp used on the underlayer is actually of oranges...which I colored as lemons.  And of course there are actual lemons over top and all were colored with Copics.  I layered the whole arrangement over top a panel of champagne colored textured cardstock which I then popped up onto the white card base.  To make things simple I used a reverse sentiment strip as my greeting.  Like I've mentioned several times, I may as well create belated birthday cards as those seem to be the only ones I seem to be able to send out.  *ugh*

Supplies:
Reverse Confetti - Orange Blossom stamp and die set
Create a Smile - Fruit Salad stamp set
Simon Says Stamp - Sentiment Strip
Tonic Studios - Seashell Sand textured cardstock
Honeybee Stamps - Wedding Ring Rhinestones

I invite you to join us over at the Color Hues blog where you'll see lots of Yellow and Green inspiration from our DT.   Do come play along!

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #236

It's time for another round of Sisterhood Saturday where we have a really cute and versatile prompt for you all to play with this next two weeks.

I think this is my favorite graphic yet!  Thanks Lee!

We would love to see your creations featuring some snarky critters!  I took the opportunity to do some mixing and matching of beaver stamp sets to create what I think is an adorable card.  (How does a Floridian have more than one beaver stamp set?)

I stamped this cute critter onto rustic cardstock utilizing the upper third of my card.  I colored him in with Copics and then stamped the main sentiment in a crisp black pigment ink.  I then layered the woodgrain cardstock below, using a narrow red border to separate the layers.  The sub-sentiment was then stamped onto a circle of the same rustic cardstock and then cropped to fit the design.  I really love this silly card.

Supplies:
Art Impressions - Beaver (freebie with order)
Hero Arts - Irreverent Birthday stamp set
Neat & Tangled - Beavers, Eh! stamp set

I'm excited to see your Snarky Critters so come play along.  Don't forget to give my teammie and our Queen of Snark a bit of love while you're there.

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Seize the Birthday #263

Barbara is our hostess on this round of Seize the Birthday challenges and she's chosen a wonderful Topping for birthdays.  I had so much fun creating my card.

Put Your Sentiment on a Banner!

I went digging (and I mean that literally) through my stash of really old Spellbinders dies because a brain tingle told me owned pennant/flag die sets from way back when.  Yeppers.  (And they must be at least twelve years old.)

I decided on a turquoise/coral/kraft color scheme alternating the flag banner colors.  I adhered die cut white letters to the flags and strung them across a white card panel with a bit of twine.  The Birthday sentiment was also created with die cuts, this time in black.  I stamped the sub-sentiment in coral and then added in some die cut flowers and clear droplets on the diagonal.  I felt that it needed a bit more black so I matted the panel with a very narrow black cardstock border before adhering it to the kraft card base.  I just love how it turned out and it was postal within days of completion.

Supplies:
Spellbinders - Pennant dies (extremely old)
Spellbinders - Small Die of the Month 04/2018
MFT Stamps - Block Happy Birthday die
Tim Holtz - alpha dies (here in white)

I invite you to visit our blog for more inspiration where we have Bonnie and Denise as our Surprise Party Guests.  We'd love to see your card in our gallery.  Remember, our toppings are always optional but do remember to make it a birthday card.

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Happy Little Stampers - June Christmas Challenge

It's time once again for our monthly Christmas challenge over at the Happy Little Stampers challenge group where the prompt is To Make A Scene.

My design looks far more labor intensive than it actually was.  Santa and Scooter are all one stamp so all I had to do to create my scene was to draw in the ground.  Some Copic coloring, glitter stickles and some designer paper was all it took to complete.

Supplies:
Penny Black - Scootin' By stamp set
MFT - diagonal stripes 6x6 paper pad

I invite you to visit our blog for more holiday inspiration.  We'd love to see your card in our gallery.  Remember, the prompts are always optional but remember that only holiday cards qualify.

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Color Hues #65

It's time for another Color Hues challenge and because I'm "up" in the DT rotation I had the opportunity to choose the color duo.  Those of you who've been around since my scrapbooking days might remember this as being one of my favorite layout color combos, so much so that my craft room is also done in these colors.

I stamped and stenciled the florals onto a panel of white cardstock.  The stamped and die cut sentiment was centered on the panel which I matted with a narrow black cardstock border prior to adhering it to a red card base.  I finished it off with a generous amount of pretty pearls.

Supplies:
Pink Fresh Studio - Be Strong stamp and stencil
The Greetery - Opposites Attract stamp and die
Little Things by Lucy - Crystal Collection, Fairytale

I invite you to join us over at the Color Hues blog where you'll see lots of Aqua and Red inspiration from our DT as well as our guest designer, Ineke.  Do come play along!

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!
