Inkspirational Challenge #337

I had some extra time today so I searched my favorite (non-DT) challenge sites for inspiration.  And guess what?  The Inkspirational challenge, led by my friend Carol, lived up to it's name.  :-)  Their current prompt is Sports.  I really don't have much in the way of sports themed supplies but I did remember this guy from years ago.

My dad was an avid golfer and I think that's what originally spurred me to buy this die but I honestly don't think I ever used it.  Since Pops is gone I thought this might make for a masculine nice retirement card.  What do you think?

It was pretty simple to make.  I die cut the green panel with a cover die and adhered it over a panel of metallic gold cardstock.  The golfer is stacked two high as is the die cut sentiment.  It's a CAS card with a bit of pizazz.

Supplies:
Spellbinders - Stitched Starry Argyle cutting plate (NBUS)
Gina Marie - golfer die
Impression Obsession - Congratulations die

I'm also adding this to Darnell's site since another NBUS bites the dust!

Thanks so much for visiting!  I appreciate your time and comments.

One Card - Two Challenges

True to my resolution I am trying to carve out time to play along with other card challenges on the web.  Today I was able to make one card that fits with two of my favorite online challenges, Just Us Girls and Inkspirational.  Another year has past that I didn't mail out Christmas cards so I'm determined to make a few throughout the year, hence this is a holiday card.

The JUGS team has a wonderful mood board this week.  I chose the little winter cabin and the colors to set the scene for my design.

And as luck has it, the snow on the roof was all I needed to once again play along with the INKy team.

I believe this card is self explanatory.  I die cut and assembled the house and then double matted it with two pattern paper layers.  The sentiment was stamped and adhered as part of the door step.

Supplies:
Hero Arts - Gingerbread House Fancy Die set
Spellbinders - To You and Yours stamp set

Thanks so much for visiting!  Your time and comments are most appreciated.

Inkspirational Challenge #301

Today's card was created for the current Inkspirational Challenge where the Word is COLD.  I thought it was the perfect opportunity to play with some "new to me" stamps and dies from Ellen Hutson.  (Man, I'm gonna miss that store.)

I began with the stamping and die cutting of the focal sentiment, adding in some glitter along with top of the words to mimic snow.  I die cut the white cardstock panel, overlaying it above teal cardstock.  (Some of it looks black in the photo but it's teal.)  This was layered overtop of a panel of patterned paper before adhering it to a white card base.  The black sentiment strip was heat embossed in white and the snowflakes were die cut from white glitter cardstock.  I added in some grey pearls as accents.

Supplies:
Ellen Hutson - North Pole Greetings
Ellen Hutson - Nordic Cross Cover plate
Simon Says Stamp - Snowflake dies
Darice - Snowflake die

Thanks so much for visiting me here in my little corner of the blogosphere!  Much appreciated.

Inkspirational Challenge #300

You know that carefree feeling of being "caught up?"  No?  Me either.  Ha!  But I have had some extra free time recently to continue playing along with other challenges.  Today I'm back with a card for the Inkspirational Challenge where they want to see cards with matching envelopes.

I have a little bin of new goodies that I keep to the side of my desk.  This stencil and die set have sat there for ages untouched however they are virgins no more!  I stenciled a panel of white cardstock with Weathered Wood and Stormy Sky Distress Oxide inks (I think I have found a new fav combo) and added some stenciling to the bottom corner of a colored envelope while I had it out.  I then used the same colors, along with Spun Sugar, to blend out some white orchid die cuts that I arranged on white cardstock cut from a diamond die.  The die also cuts a narrow frame which I added in silver metallic.  The sentiment was heat embossed in silver as well.  I had a few smaller florals left over so I added in a tag to go with the card/envie combo.  I'm a bit extra like that.  *wink*  I did strongly consider adding my usual clear droplets but I thought this was busy enough.

I'm also sharing this over at Darnell's NBUS blog and these products will be filed in with the rest of my stash.

Supplies:
Waffle Flower - Layered Orchid stencil and dies
Sizzix - Geometric Winter die set
The Ton - Basic Sentiments stamp set
Sugar Pea Design - With Love tag die set

Thanks so much for visiting me here in my little corner of the blogosphere!  Much appreciated.

Inkspirational Challenge #299

Today's card was created with the new Inkspirational Challenge in mind.  This fortnight they are asking for Clean and Simple with a Movie Twist.  I sure didn't have to look far....

Duh-Nuh

I did some simple masking in order to stamp the boat behind the shark.  The sentiment was stamped directly below it.  The images were colored with Copics.  This was a very simple card to make and I'm excited to add another shark card to my stash.

Supplies:
Create it with Joy - 2023 Shark Week kit

Thanks so much for visiting!!!  I appreciate your time and comments.

Inkspirational Challenge #298

It's not often that I get to play along with (non DT) challenges but I carved out some time this weekend to play along with my friend Carol's Inspirational Challenge.  This week's Mood Board really drew me in.

I love those bright colors but it was the soft blues and grays that spoke to me.

I began my card with some Distress Oxide ink blending to create the background.  I then embossed the panel with a 3D folder.  The holly was die cut from white cardstock.  The bells were die cut with a soft metallic silver cardstock.  The sentiment is a premade strip that I foiled in silver.  I'm quite pleased with the end results.

Supplies:
Altenew - Masonry Wall embossing folder
Poppystamps - Greenery Bundle die
Cottage Cutz - Christmas Holly Bells die
Simon Says Stamp - preprinted sentiment sheet

Thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!!!

Inkspirational Challenge #218

Today I'm playing along with the folks at the Inkspirational Challenge blog.  I could be mistaken but I think this may be my first time in joining in.  I will say that their current photo board is a tad bit creepy but I do love the colors.

I have a polka dot cover die in my stash so that's the direction my card took.  I opted for a cute windmill rather than creepy tentacles however.

The white panel was cut with a cover die and then embossed with a cover plate to give it some texture.  I did some Copic coloring on the windmill, mushrooms and sentiment.  The front panel was adhered to a red card base which shows through the circles.  I think the end result is cute.

Supplies:
Avery Elle - Windmill stamp set
Queen and Co - Polkas Die
Papertrey Ink - cover plate

Stay safe and healthy my friends!
