Ellen Hutson 12 Days of Tags

Anyone else going through withdrawals from Tracey's annual 25 Days of Christmas Tags?  I certainly am but the silver lining is that I now have the motivation to play along with Ellen Hutson's 12 Days of Tags.  Each day they provide a holiday song along with DT inspiration from which to create our tags.

Here are my twelve tags along with the song that inspired them...

Day 1 - Christmas in a Coffee Shop

Day 2 - Puppy for Hanukkah

Day 3 - Feliz Navidad

Day 4 - Let It Snow

Day 5 - I'll Be Home for Christmas

Day 6 - Jingle Bells

Day 7 - Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Day 8 - Sleigh Ride

Day 9 - Deck the Halls

Day 10 - Twelve Days of Christmas

Day 11 - Oh Christmas Tree

Day 12 - Holly Jolly Christmas

Things are pretty busy around here so I kept this post short.  If you have any questions as to what products I used (I tried to use items from Ellen Hutson's line whenever possible) please drop me a line in the comments.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!

Perfectly CAS - December Challenge

We're closing out 2021 with our last challenge of the year at the Perfectly CAS blog.  Our final prompt this year is Sea and/or Sky.

I couldn't help myself.  This cute stamp set was calling my name once again.

This was a super simple card to make.  I began by stamping and coloring (alcohol markers) the shark in the upper left corner.  I used a microfiber towel and some Copic blending solution to create the scaly texture on his body.  I then masked him off and lightly stenciled in some waves and added the sentiment.  A few clear droplets serve as ocean bubbles.

I invite you to join us in the gallery!  We'd love to see your CAS cards using just 1/3 of the panel for your design.

Supplies:
Avery Elle - Santa Jaws stamp set
MFT - Perfect Pool Waves stencil

CAS Colours and Sketches #450

It's time for our last challenge of 2021 at the CAS Colours and Sketches challenge blog however before we get to the details of the challenge I have a little announcement to make.  After two wonderful years with the group I have decided to step down from the challenge team but we have four new wonderful creators coming on board in 2022.

As always, our final challenge of the year is to pick any 2021 challenge and make a seasonal card.

I chose Sketch Challenge #415 for my card.

I began by running a panel of kraft cardstock through my die cutter using a cover plate to create the swirled background.  The circle was cut from gold mirror cardstock.  The layered poinsettia was stamped and die cut with the third layer heat embossed in gold.  The white heat embossed sentiment spans both the gold circle as well as the kraft panel.  Gold pearls were used as finishing touches.

I invite you to visit the blog for more inspiration and hope to see your card in our gallery.  Oh!  Did I mention that there is a prize involved?  We have two prizes up for grabs .... a $20 gift certificate from Stamplorations as well as a $15 gift certificate from Altenew.  Just what are you waiting for?  :-)

Supplies:
Hero Arts - Color Layering Poinsettia stamp set
Altenew - Dotted Swirls cover plate

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #200

We are celebrating a milestone over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers blog.
This final challenge of the 2021 marks #200 for the Sistahs.

That's a Whole Lotta Snark!

Our prompt, put simply, is to use SNARK on your card
and Lee has outdone herself with our Edna graphic.

I'm still cranking through holiday cards and
wanted to put this fun sentiment to use on a card.

Personally I love it when my family tells me EXACTLY what they want so this card isn't a stretch for me.  I paired the sentiment with my favorite bear, some heat embossing (white and gold) and a bit of ink blending around the edges.  Easy card.

Did I mention that there are prizes involved?  I invite you to visit our blog for more inspiration and information on how you could win a gift certificate from Lost Coast Designs.

Supplies:
Ellen Hutson - All Inside stamp set
Ellen Hutson - Christmas Scribbles
Hero Arts - Offbeat Holiday sentiment stamp set

Happy Little Stampers - December Anything Goes with Dies

We're finishing up 2021 with our final Anything Goes with Dies challenge over at the Happy Little Stampers challenge blog.  It's a busy time of year for everyone but I hope you can find time to play along.

The most recent Hero Arts Monthly Kit was just too cute for this die loving crafter to pass up.  My card today features the elf from the set.

I die cut the elements from colored cardstock and assembled them into this cute little elf.  I opted for a background of patterned paper which I edged with gold cardstock.  The sentiment was heat embossed in white onto black cardstock.  I finished off the collar with some Nuvo drops, gold pearls and sparkly stickles.

If you use a die on your card upload it to our gallery and play along!

Supplies:

CAS Colours and Sketches #449

We have a new color challenge up over at the CAS Colours and Sketches challenge blog with Patricia coming in to host for December.  She's chosen a very pretty combination for you to try.

I decided to create yet another holiday card.

I chose a floral die set for my focal point, cutting it out in white cardstock and coloring it with Copics.  I die cut the sentiment from gold mirror cardstock and embossed the background panel for more interest.  After adhering everything down to a white card base I added in my usual sprinkling of clear droplets.

We will be having one more challenge next week and then we'll be taking a break for the remainder of 2021.  I hope you find time to play along with us!

Supplies:
Cottage Cutz - Seasons Floral 1 die set
Simon Says Stamp - Large Joy die
Simon Says Stamp - Kaleidoscope embossing folder.

Happy Little Stampers - December Christmas Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends.  December has arrived and we've posted our final Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge of 2021 on the HLS blog.  Our last prompt for the year is Toys.

I have quite an extensive stash of holiday stamps and dies so imagine my surprise at discovering that I own only one teeny tiny toy image from one really old stamp set.  Well, I made it work.

That little rocking horse is my only toy.  I paired him with a newer Santa stamp and die set along with a new Christmas tree die to create my little scene.  I ink blended a white panel along the edges, added some sparkly white snow using a stencil and then die cut it with a vintage background die.  The sentiment was cut from green cardstock, stacked with an offset of white, and positioned above the scene.  I added a garland of white clear gems onto the tree for this finishing touches.

I invite you to visit our blog for more inspiration and hope you find a bit of time in this busy season to play along!

Supplies:
MFT - For You, From Santa stamp and die set
MFT - Evergreen die
MFT - Snowfall stencil
Penny Black - Antique Frame die
Amuse Studio - rocking horse stamp
PaperTrey Ink - die cut sentiment
Nuvo - Glimmer Paste in Moonstone
