Seize the Birthday #268

I'm back as hostess of the new Seize the Birthday challenge which means I had the honor of choosing the Topping.  I hope you all like it as much as I do.

I am one who loves to BLARE the music both in the house and in the car.  I also dance and sing off key.   *blush*  It makes me happy but must admit, it makes my family crazy.

I combined several sets of goodies to create my card.  The black background cardstock was stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed in white.  The record was die cut from mirror black cardstock so it has a nice sheen that's not visible in my photo.  The other turntable elements were die cut in silver mirror cardstock.  The label actually comes from yet a third musical set.  I stamped the tiny birthday greeting in a crisp black pigment ink.  I adhered the panel to a white card base using some fun foam to create a bit of dimension.

Supplies:
MFT - Turntable die set
Sweet Pea Designs - Greatest Hits stamp and die set
Impression Obsession - Music background stamp

I invite you to visit our blog for more musical inspiration from not only our Design Team members but also our Surprise Party Guest, Izzy, as well as the winners from our previous challenge, Kathy and Marina.

And as always, thanks so much for visiting me on my blog.

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #241

Happy Sisterhood Saturday everyone!  It's time for another round of "Guess That Prompt!"  which may prove a bit challenging based on my card.

Any thoughts?  One hint:  It has nothing to do with sharks.

Yeah, I admit that a slight reference to the theme from Jaws may not be entirely musical but I'm determined to work this awesome Shark Week kit into as many challenges as I can.  Ha!

I used two colors of Distress Oxides inks to create the background.  The stamping was done with black pigment ink and clear embossing powder.  The images were colored with Copics with the shark popped up with an Action Wobbler.  I added a narrow black mat before adhering the panel to my white card base.

Supplies:
Create it With Joy - Shark Week kit 2023
Avery Elle - Hello Chum stamp set (surfboard)

Visit our blog for more musical inspiration.  We would love for you to flood our gallery with your genius.

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Color Hues #70

The Color Hues gang is back with another Color Duo for you to try.  Once I saw the colors Stef chose, I knew exactly what I was going to make.

Would you like fries with that?

The fries and coke were die cut from colored cardstocks and shadowed with Copic markers.  I stamped the small sentiment along with bottom of a die cut dome and then adhered the die cuts.  The larger sentiment was also created with die cuts and adhered below the focal image onto a red card base.  I felt like it needed a bit more sumthin' sumthin' so I added the fine line frame onto the front.

Anyone feeling like a trip to McDonald's is now in order?

Supplies:
Spellbinders - Drive Thru die set
Altenew - Fine Frames die set
MFT - Stitched Dome die set
Concord & 9th - Special Edition stamp set
MFT - Little Dies Uppercase set

I invite you to join us over at the Color Hues blog where you'll see many wonderful and varied card designs using our new combination of red and yellow.

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Seize the Birthday #267

JoAnn is our hostess over at the Seize the Birthday challenge blog this fortnight.  She is challenging us to Create a Shaped Card.  I opted for an interactive card in the shape of a gift bag.  (I hope it qualifies as a shape.)

Complete with a slot for cash or a gift card.

I am trying very hard to go back through my supply stash and use sets that are collecting dust.  This one actually qualifies as a NBUS so I'll be linking it to Darnell's challenge as well.  It's rather embarrasing because the set is from the April 2019 Large Die of the Month club from Spellbinders.  It only took me four years to open the package.  ugh.

I die cut the kit elements and assembled them as per the package instructions. I heat embossed the sentiment in gold and added a wisp of white florals and gold gems as decoration.  As you can see from the second photo, you can pull the fringe out to reveal a spot for a gift card or, in my case, my dear friend Benjamin Franklin.

Supplies:
Spellbinders - Large Die of the Month kit April 2019
Spellbinders - Stylish Oval Birthday Wishes stamp set
Spellbinders - Floral Oval die set

I invite you to visit our blog for more inspiration from our Surprise Party Guest Izzy as well as our Design Team.  And as always, thanks so much for visiting me on my blog.

Just Us Girls #691

I fell in love with the current color combination over at the JUGS blog and just had to make time to play along.

The card front consists of Distress Oxide blending using the three challenge colors followed by some random water splatters to create the interest.  The shark image is colored with Copics.  The wave was cut from the same blue blended color and added to ground the shark.  The sentiment is heat embossed in white.  Glitter Stickles and Glossy Accents were added before the panel was adhered to a white scalloped panel for some additional interest.

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #240

I'd like to personally thank all of you who played along with our tribute to Lindsey.  It's important to me that we keep her memory alive.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Today we are starting a new challenge at the Sisterhood and it's one that I find difficult to embrace.  (Yeah, there, I said it.)  The prompt is to create an ATC.

I know ATCs are quite popular but, to me, they are of little use.  (Yep, I said it again.  I'm snarky that way.  *wink*)  So I decided to create something I will actually use.... a 2.5" x 3.5" gift tag.  I mean...after all it's an ATC with a ribbon, right?

I die cut my cupcake in white and colored the individual elements with Copic markers.  I used a designer paper for the background, stamping the sentiment along with bottom.  I matted it onto a piece of black cardstock for some stability and then added the ribbon and bow.

Supplies:
Cottage Cutz - Birthday Cupcake with Cherry die set
Impression Obsession - Cupcake stamp
Craft Consortium - Designer Paper

I'm sure all of you mixed media artists will blow me away with your ATC examples.  Come flood our gallery and check out the other examples from our Design Team.

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Happy Little Stampers - August Christmas Challenge

The Happy Little Stampers Design Team is back with another Christmas challenge.  Our (optional) prompt is Elf for the month of August.

I colored my stamped images with Copics, adhered them to a panel of designer paper and stamped the sentiment on the lower portion.  The panel was then adhered to a fog card base with the tiny stars added as the finishing touch.

Supplies:
MFT Stamps - Santa's Elves stamp set
Honeybee Stamps - Stargazer gold stars

I invite you to visit our blog for more holiday inspiration.  Prompts are always optional but remember that only holiday cards qualify.  We would love to see your card in our gallery.

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Color Hues #69

We have a new Color Hues challenge that starts .... NOW!  I think you're really going to love the colors that Sheri has picked out.  I had so much fun creating my card and you might figure out why...

Look at that sentiment!!!!!

I used two new stamp sets from a kit created by Joy from Create It With Joy.  She designed a Shark Week kit earlier this year and yep, I had to have it.  (I did a pre-order so I'm not sure they're still available.)  I was determined to use it right away so I didn't let a little thing like color restrictions stand in my way.  Ha!

By the way....did you notice the sentiment?  Do you know I have a shark fanatic of a grandson named Fin?  Can you guess where this card is headed?  I swear she designed this stamp set with me in mind.

My background was created with Distress Oxides using the current challenge shades. The images were stamped, cut using my Scan and Cut and then colored with Copics.  The sentiment was stamped in black pigment ink and heat embossed with a clear powder.  I adhered the images and added some white gel pen accents as a final touch.

I am in LOVE with this card and I know my little Fin will be as well.  I actually spent some time stamping and die cutting a huge pile of all of the images that I plan to send them to him so he can make his own shark scenes at home.

Supplies:
Create It With Joy - 2023 Shark Week kit

I invite you to join us over at the Color Hues blog where you'll see many wonderful and varied card designs using Orange and Teal.

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!
