Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #264
Today I'm sharing a card made for July's Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge. It is officially summer in the northern hemisphere so Edna has chosen Hot, Hot, Hot as her theme. I've made several beach themed cards recently so I chose another route for the prompt.

Hello Crafty Friends! The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is here once again to bring you another month long challenge. For the month of June we are looking for cards related to Pride. (You can interpret that however you choose.) I opted to go all in celebrating the Pride Rainbow.

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #256
I used colored cardstock scraps to die cut all of my elements. If you glance down to my supply list you will see that I was an Equal Opportunity Manufacturer crafter for this one. (I love when a mix of manufacturer's product, both old and new, play so well with one another.) I think this is pretty straightforward in completion but I should say that I stamped the sentiment before embossing the arched panel. This seems to work pretty well for me.

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #254
If it's the first Saturday of the month then it's time for the start of a new challenge over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers blog. And being early September we're challenging you to create Autumnal themed cards....preferably (but optional) with a bit of humor or snark. Rather than go the pretty fall leaves route I opted for a Halloween themed card.
I began my card with the blending out of the panel. I like to do this first when possible so it has time to dry before adhering my elements. And speaking of elements, I stamped, colored (Copics) and fussy cut the images. I am giving myself a pat on the back for my patience however you can see that I opted to stamp the spider and web 'cause "ain't nobody got time for that!" I die cut the fence, assembled my elements and finished with the heat embossed sentiment.

Yeah, I know scuba diving isn't solely a summer activity but I've been waiting for an opportunity to use this gal and today was the day. She'd be too cold to do this in winter. *wink*
My biggest obstacle with this card was finding a suitable sentiment. After many hours of searching my stamps (a slight exaggeration but not by much) I came across a set by CathyZ. I thought it fit the mood perfectly.
I began by coloring in the images with Copic markers. To create the undersea background I simply did some Distress Oxide ink blending onto a white panel of cardstock. She needed some grounding (and I needed a spot for a sentiment) so I chose to die cut an oval sentiment strip for her to stand on. (Sentiment is heat embossed in white.) I added the clear droplets to simulate air bubbles. Isn't she quite the adventurer?

This is a super simple card to recreate. I did some partial embossing along the lower third of the red card panel, reserving room for my heat embossed white sentiment. I die cut and assembled Santa, adding in white gems for eyes. I popped the panel onto a heavy weight white card panel and called this one DONE.

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #249
Hello my Snarky Friends! The Sisterhood is back this month with another fun prompt. In April we are looking for cards with a bit of a twist on their fold designs. I will admit I spent far more time on this than warranted but I'm just not a fancy fold kinda person.
I scored a half sheet of navy cardstock at 2.25" from each side and creased them to get two folds that meet in the middle. I used a postage die set to cut a panel from both white cardstock as well as designer paper, cutting each in the center so as to fit on both sides of the opening. (The right side mirrors the left sans the diamond die cut) I die cut large decreasing sized diamonds from navy, white and red cardstocks which I layered and adhered to the left side of the card base and then adhered a white sailboat die cut to the center. I used the same postage die to cut an interior panel and stamped my sentiment near the top. It should not have taken me an entire day to create this and boy am I ever happy that this challenge is behind me. That said, I have an awesome masculine card for my stash. Living in a beach town, this one will definitely come in handy.
