It's time for another Topping over at the Seize the Birthday challenge blog where Cathy is our hostess. As such she had the honor of choosing our next prompt and it's perfect for personalized birthday cards. I took a very subtle approach when creating my card.
It just so happened that my daughter celebrated her 22nd birthday this past Sunday so I was able to incorporate a DT assignment in her card design. (Stay tuned...you'll see another example of this coming very soon.)
She is a plant lover and one of her favorite scents is lavender and whadayaknow? I just so happen to have a set of dies for that. Ha! The florals and pots were all die cut from white cardstock and colored with alcohol markers. The background was made easy through the use of designer paper. I added her age to the plant spike and a double gold frame for some understated elegance. The birthday greeting was stamped on the inside panel.
She loved her card and I hope you do as well. Please stop by the blog and check out the fabulous inspiration from my teammates as well as our Guest Designer Bonnie.
Love how yo put the number on the flower stake. Love the pretty background for all your lovely flower pots. Great card Jules.
ReplyDeleteAwesome coloring on these pots and plants, Jules! The patterned paper makes a perfect background! Thanks for making me feel so welcome at the party.
ReplyDeleteYour fern pots and filler look so realistic! Awesome background too
ReplyDeleteLovely set of lavender flowerpots. Very pretty card, Jules
ReplyDeleteYou made this so personal for Meg! I know she loved it! The DSP background worked out well too. Awesome card!
ReplyDeleteDon’t you just love it when you have a die or a stamp that perfectly fits the person you’re making a card for. I’m sure your daughter will love this one. I love how you made the card so that the lavender was the focal point and the age was just very small. This may be a good idea for someone who doesn’t really want to advertise their age.
ReplyDeleteYou pulled all of these different brands of dies together to make an awesome card Jules, love the age on the little spike and gorgeous background, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteLove the 3D-ness of this card, Jules, I want to touch the plants! Great idea to put the number on the plant spike.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool! I love the little pots and plants and how sweetly you've incorporated the number as the spike. Clever idea and so well executed. Awesome card, Jules! Your daughter would be so pleased!
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely gorgeous! Fabulous plants and wonderful background. Love the colours.
