Spellbinders - Envelope of Wonder Release

This is my third and final post featuring new dies sent to me by Spellbinders.  Today I'm showcasing the fabulous Envelope of Wonder die set.

This die set is absolutely AMAZING!  It includes the envelope die, the tag die AND  all of the dies to create the florals shown here.  My only additions to this set were the cardstock scraps and the sentiment stamp.

To create the card all I did was die cut and assemble the envelope and then stuff it full of die cut florals.  Very easy and gratifying.

Tomorrow I'll be back with some special posts in honor of my dear friend Lindsey.

Spellbinders - Gnome Hugs Release

My many thanks to Spellbinders for their generous gift of dies from their recent release.  Today I will be featuring their Gnome Hugs die set.  The set consists of two gnomes in different sizes.  I used the larger of the two for this Christmas themed card.

And the smaller gnome for this Autumnal themed card.

Aren't they both adorable?  I will no doubt be using these for Valentine's and St. Patty's Day cards in the next few months.

I believe the assembly of these cards is fairly self explanatory but if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me in the comments below.

Here are the supplies I used -

Christmas Gnome -
Spellbinders - Gnome Hugs die set
Spellbinders - So Many Sentiments die set (small hearts)
Spellbinders - Sentiments of Wonder (Better Press)

Autumnal Gnome -
Spellbinders - Gnome Hugs die set
Spellbinders - Autumn Wonder dies
Ellen Hutson - Bear Ware 2 (sentiment)

I'll be back on the blog soon with more cards from this wonderful Spellbinders release.  Until then, thanks for stopping by!

Inkspirational Challenge #298

It's not often that I get to play along with (non DT) challenges but I carved out some time this weekend to play along with my friend Carol's Inspirational Challenge.  This week's Mood Board really drew me in.

I love those bright colors but it was the soft blues and grays that spoke to me.

I began my card with some Distress Oxide ink blending to create the background.  I then embossed the panel with a 3D folder.  The holly was die cut from white cardstock.  The bells were die cut with a soft metallic silver cardstock.  The sentiment is a premade strip that I foiled in silver.  I'm quite pleased with the end results.

Supplies:
Altenew - Masonry Wall embossing folder
Poppystamps - Greenery Bundle die
Cottage Cutz - Christmas Holly Bells die
Simon Says Stamp - preprinted sentiment sheet

Thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!!!

Happy Little Stampers - September Christmas Challenge

It's time once again for a new monthly prompt over at the Happy Little Stampers Christmas blog.  Our theme for September is Snow Globe.

I took a simple approach to this month's theme by opting not to make my snow globe into a shaker card.  I heat embossed the sentiment onto some designer paper which I used inside the die cut shaker dome, adding in some white glitter paper to serve as snow.  Die cut poinsettia leaves were added to the globe after first adhering it to another panel of designer paper.  This is a bit fiddly for mass production but definitely not as fiddly as a traditional shaker card.

Supplies:
Poppystamps - Snowglobe die set
Paper Trey Ink - designer papers
Poppystamps - Small Poinsettia dies
Hero - Arts - sentiment stamp set

I invite you to visit our blog for more holiday inspiration.  Prompts are always optional but remember that only holiday cards qualify.  We would love to see your card in our gallery.

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #242

Welcome to another Snarky Saturday with the Sisterhood.  We are a group of cardmakers who love to keep things light and laughable.  If this is your thing, you're in the right place.

This fortnight we are looking for Retro themed cards.  I decided to go for a 1960s inspired image with a slight bit of sarcasm.

I opted for a loose bit of coloring which not only makes the image look super cool and retro, it also made creating this card super simple.  I stamped the image, scribbled it a bit with some Karin markers, matted it onto a piece of designer paper (hard to see but it has glossy circles on the matte background), slapped it onto a white card base and added a preprinted sentiment.  Could not have been easier!

Supplies:
Penny Black - Love Ya! stamp set
Tim Holtz/Stampendous - Small Talk sentiment stickers

I invite you to visit our blog for more retro designs and hope you're inspired to play along!

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!

Color Hues #71

It's the first of the month which means we have a new color combination on the Color Hues challenge blog.  This fortnight we'd like to see cards using the hues of Tangerine and Violet.

This netting is an unused element from a previous project so I decided to put it to good use here by adding it to what would be nontraditional beachy colors.  I did some ink blending with Oxides to create the background and adhered the net at a diagonal.  I plopped a messy nest of gold thread beneath a die cut sand dollar, which I popped up with some foam tape.  I stamped my sentiment onto a narrow tag and added some gold bling to finish it off.

Supplies:
Amy Design - Maritime Fishing Net
Reverse Confetti - Sand Dollar die
Simply Graphic - English Sentiment stamp set
Spellbinders - Swalltail Tags die

I invite you to join us over at the Color Hues blog where you'll see many wonderful and varied card designs using our new combination of tangerine and purple.

As always, thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!
