Color Hues #35

I'm popping in really quick to share my card inspired by the color duo over at the Color Hues challenge blog.  Their current combo is Navy and Pink.

I actually grabbed two different designer paper packs to create my very simple card today.  (Yay me!)  I covered the panel of an A2 sized card with a faux navy alcohol inked piece of designer paper.  This paper was also used for the large heart as well as the sentiment strip.  The pink heart was die cut from a tropical paper pack.  The background was pierced with a cover die and adhered over the front panel leaving a narrow border.  The sentiment was heat embossed in white onto a strip of the navy paper.   Pink and navy hearts as well as pearls complete my card.

Supplies:
Reverse Confetti - Peekaboo Cover Panel
Craft Consortium - Ink Drops, Ocean 6x6 paper pack
My Minds Eye - Palm Beach 6x6 paper pack
Simon Says Stamp - Folding Heart & Window
Simon Says Stamp - Simply Thank You stamp set
Kat Scrappiness - navy and pink hearts
Trinity Stamps - Something New pearls

Thank you so much for spending a bit of your day with me.

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #204

Welcome back to another round of the rude and sarcastic, brought to you by none other than the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.  Our latest theme is not easily guessed from my card.  I'll give you a hint:  Q is for....

QUIRKY

My Blanche may not have that fabulous scarf
but she definitely has her own unique taste in swim attire.

The inside of the card reveals the full sentiment.

I began with a pool colored card panel on which I stenciled the background image using white pigment ink.  I stamped, Copic colored and fussy cut Blanche and added her to the bottom corner along with some grounding.  I decided on a speech bubble to display my sentiment which carries through to the inside.  Quirky is as Quirky does.

Supplies:
Art Impressions - Blanche stamp
Altenew - Speech Bubble die
MFT - Perfect Pool Water stencil
Sentiment - really old and not marked

I invite you to visit our blog for more inspiration from my teammies as well as our Reigning Queen of Snark Beverly.  We'd love to see your Quirky card in our gallery.  Snark is appreciated however not a requirement to play.

Thank you so much for spending a bit of your day with me.

Seize the Birthday # 232

The gang at the Seize the Birthday card blog is back with another fun challenge.  See if you can guess what it is from my card.

Did you guess Dichromatic?

aka, two colors.

I began with two colors each of blue and orange cardstocks which I used to die cut the bird and the branches.  (I added in some white branches as well.)  I cut down the panel vertically so I could offset it a bit and add in a narrow orange mat before adhering it to a blue card base.  The sentiment was heat embossed in white onto blue cardstock which I then used to ground my bird.  Finally I finished it off with a trio of orange Nuvo drops.

Supplies:
Simon Says Stamp - Layered Birdie die
Waffle Flower - Greenery die set
MFT - Bitty Birthday Wishes stamp set

I invite you to visit our blog for more inspiration and hope to see your card in our gallery!

Perfectly CAS - February Challenge

Happy Valentine's Day!  Today I'm here to share my card for our monthly Perfectly CAS card challenge where the theme this month is Metallic.

You all know my love/hate relationship with shiny cards so I decided to make this one a little easier on myself.  I chose gold metallic embossing powder to fulfill the challenge.

The root of our challenge is to create cards with lots of open space, using only 1/3 of the panel in our design.

To create my card I stamped the image and sentiment in clear embossing ink, slathered it with gold embossing powder and then heat set it.  I used Copic markers to color the interiors of the image.  I created a top fold white card base and added a line of pink Copic markers to the vertical sides.  I then cut my focal panel down on the sides so that when adhered, the pink would serve as a border.  Very simple card.

I invite you to visit our blog and give our challenge a try!

Supplies:
Simon Says Stamp - Paper Hug stamp set
Simon Says Stamp - Super Fine Gold embossing powder
Simon Says Stamp/Trinity Stamps - Clear Droplet mix

Just Us Girls #618

I told ya I had some extra time and I'm whole heartedly taking advantage of it.  Today I'm playing with the Just Us Girls challenge with a card I've been wanting to make for quite awhile.  I found my inspiration from an ad on social media.

Here's my card:

My inspiration:

The Challenge Prompt:

I was really drawn to the muted colors, patterns and design of the inspiration photo.  Truth be told, I'd love to order that tee but most likely won't.

Creating my card was simple.  I die cut the hearts from patterned paper found in three different 6x6 paper pads made by Honeybee Stamps.  I arranged them onto a panel of rustic white cardstock, stamped the sentiment and popped the the panel up onto a piece of toffee colored cardstock.  Done!  I love the card just as much as the shirt.  :-)

Supplies:
Honeybee Stamps - Autumn Afternoon, Farm Fresh Holiday & Fresh Brewed 6x6 paper packs
Hero Arts - Many Everyday Messages sentiment stamp set
Cardstocks - PaperTrey Ink

Thanks so much for spending part of your day with me.

Happy Little Stampers Die Challenge - February 2022

I'm back today with another DT card for the Happy Little Stampers blog.  This time the challenge is Anything Goes with Dies.

I'm continuing my obsession of the kraft/black/white right now.  For this card I die cut a greenery sprig six times, three times each in black, kraft and vellum. I cut a kraft panel to fit the card base with a nice border and then splattered it with black ink.  I arranged and adhered the sprigs to flow diagonally from the upper left to the lower right and added the sentiment strip around the midpoint horizontally.

Supplies:
Spellbinders - Foliage die set
Simon Says Stamp - Reverse Sentiment Strip

I invite you to check out our various monthly challenges on the blog and do hope to see your card in our gallery!

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #147

Psssst.  I don't want to jinx myself but I'm actually in really good shape with regards to upcoming DT assignments.  So much so that I found some time to play along with one of my favorite challenge boards over at the Tic Tac Toe blog.

To create my card I used the left most column of Wreath, Shaker and Flowers.

I began by first splattering my black cardstock panel with gold metallic and white shimmer paints.  I then die cut a circle for my shaker container to sit in and filled it with gold sequins and tiny gold and white star confetti.  I surrounded the shaker with a wreath cut from kraft and white cardstocks to which I added in tiny black flowers.  I die cut the sentiment from kraft and black cardstocks and adhered it over the shaker bits.  The panel was then adhered to a heavy weight white card base.  The end result is a tad fussier than my usual cards but it's a perfect one to send out for any occasion.

Supplies:
Simon Says Stamp - Eucalyptus Wreath dies
HoneyBee Stamps - Hello dies
Sizzix - Geometric Winter die set
MFT - Circle Shaker element

Thanks so much for visiting my little crafty corner of the blogosphere!

We have a new challenge starting today over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers blog.  My card sentiment contains a big clue...

Me?  Never.  bwhahahahaha

Super simple card today.  I stamped and Copic colored the images.  I covered the front of a card base with designer paper and added the stamped panel.  The final step was to add in a generous sprinkling of tiny gold stars.

I invite you to don your Judgmental Hats and play along!

Supplies:
Art Impressions - Girlfriends stamp
Riley and Co - sentiment
Honeybee Stamps - Gold Stargazers tiny stars
Honeybee Stamps - Farm Fresh Holiday 6x6 paper

Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge - February 2022

It's time for another edition of the Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge.  This month our optional prompt is Snowflakes.

I am totally in love with this Joy die and believe it deserves some special attention.  You won't be sorry.

I began by stamping the musical background image in Versamark ink onto a panel of navy cardstock followed by heat setting it with clear embossing powder.  I used some navy and black inks to darken the edges of the panel.  I die cut a trio snowflakes out of white glitter cardstock (hard to see in the photo) which I adhered around the greeting.  I used a shiny black cardstock for the overlay offsetting it over white cardstock.  I finished it off with some tiny white gems.  I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out.

Supplies:
Simon Says Stamp - Snowflake dies (Melody and Abby)
Simon Says Stamp - Joy die
Impression Obsession - Music Background stamp
HoneyBee Stamps - white gem stickers

I invite you to check out our various monthly challenges on the blog and do hope to see your card in our gallery!

Color Hues #34

I'm popping in really quick to share a very simple card I created for the current Color Hues card challenge.  The color duo this fortnight is Red and Black which I'm sure was not a coincidence with Valentine's Day just around the corner.

So simple yet I'm in love.

My sis' birthday is the 9th so this will be her card this year.

For my card I stamped the sentiment and strategically adhered the nine die cut hearts just above it on the right side.  I added a narrow black mat, adhered it to a white card base and called 'er done!  It doesn't get much easier!

Supplies:
Clearly Besotted - old set...no name. (Includes sentiments and butterflies.)
Fun Stampers Journey - Bunch of Hearts die set

Thank you so much for spending a bit of your day with me.

Seize the Birthday #231

It's time for a new challenge over at the Seize the Birthday blog.  I have a love/hate relationship with our newest topping chosen by DT member Cathy. Any guesses?

Yep, Sparkle and Shine

I love using shiny cardstocks and glittery sprays to spice up card fronts however photographing the cards is always a struggle.  The above card is no exception.  Just know that it's far prettier in real life.

I began with the die cut gold sentiment which I inlaid into the white panel.  I then splattered the panel with black ink before adhering it to a white card base.  I die cut the bench and plant in black cardstock and adhered them to the card front.  I then die cut the plant twice more, once in gold and once in vellum, both of which I adhered over the top of the black cardstock.  I rather like the look of this design so you may see me CASEing myself in the future.

Supplies:
Whimsy Stamps - happy die
PaperTrey Ink - birthday die
MFT - Cat & Plant Perches die set

I invite you to visit our blog for more inspiration from our team as well as our Guest Designer Vicky.  I hope to see your card in our gallery!

Thank you so much for spending a bit of your day with me.
