I totally dated myself with my opening comments
but sometimes stream of consciousness wins out.
Our challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers blog this fortnight is Monochrome. We'd love to see a monochromatic color scheme on your card with "bonus points" for snark.
I kept my card very simple....
I thought this stamp could stand alone as both the sentiment as well as the focal image. As a bonus, it definitely could be used for a masculine birthday.
My process was quite simple. I adhered a piece of black and white diagonal patterned paper to the vertical center of my black card base. I heat embossed the large sentiment in white onto black cardstock and cut it out using a rounded rectangle die. This particular die set includes a border piece which I used to create the white outline. To give it a bit of dimension I stacked the inner portion with some additional cardstock pieces so that the black focal image sits a bit higher than the white outline piece. It couldn't have been easier.
Supplies:
Riley and Company - sentiment
MFT - Gift Card die set
MFT - B/W striped patterned paper pad
Check out our blog for some wonderful monochromatic cards created by our DT and guest designer Carole. We'd love to see your creation in our gallery!
