Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers # 275

Hello my Snarky Friends!  Our June challenge is now up and we've chosen a  Rainbow Theme in honor of Pride Month.  I thought this sentiment was perfect for my design so no snark from me this month.

I die cut six birds from white cardstock.  I die cut the six wings from six different colors of the rainbow, adhered them to the birds and then lined them up on a "wire."  The sentiment was heat embossed in white onto a panel of black cardstock which was then adhered to an embossed card base.

Supplies:
Fun Stampers Journey - Peaceful Birds die set
Altenew - Angled Mosaics embossing folder
MFT - Friends Like Us stamp set

I invite you to visit our blog for more colorful ideas from my fellow Sisters.  I hope we inspire you to play along.  Snark is preferred however any rainbow themed card works.

My craft room is still in boxes after our out of state move so I am taking a hiatus from all of my design teams.  I'll see you later this summer.  Until then, thanks for visiting!

Seize the Birthday #327

Hello Crafty Friends.  I'm here to share my latest card for our Seize the Birthday challenge, hosted by Shirley.  Her chosen Topping is Sweet Treats.

As many of you may know, we recently moved from Florida to North Carolina and all of my cards were created in January before I packed up my craft room. My list of supplies is buried at the moment so forgive me for not providing the product names.

In a nutshell I chose turquoise cardstock for the base, the panel (embossed) and the hot chocolate cup.  I'm fairly certain that the cocoa cup is from MFT.  The embossing folder is one from Spellbinders and the heat embossed text is from Ellen Hutson.  The assembly can easily be figured out from the design.

I will be taking a hiatus while I wade through my housefull of boxes.  Unfortunately my craft room set up is way down on the list so I'll most likely disappear until at least mid summer.  Until then, thanks so much for visiting!

Color Hues # 133

Hello Crafty Friends!  If you visited my blog a few days ago you will know that we are finally in North Carolina.  (Cue the Happy Dance!)  So while the Florida chaos is mostly over (still have to get the house on the market) the North Carolina chaos is just beginning.  There is far less stress on this end though, thank goodness.

Today I'm sharing a card I created for this challenge way back in January.  Tracey is our Color Hues host this time around and she's chosen Lime Green and (cough, cough, cough) Violet.  While this may seem like Christmas in May it was actually Christmas in January when I create it.  LOL!

I die cut the trees in variations of lime, violet and white and then clustered them onto an embossed die cut arch.  The arch and the card base were created with watercolor paper.  I stamped the greeting and added a few matte enamel dots for interest.

Supplies:
The Stamp Market - Merry Little Tree dies
Simon Says Stamp - Gifts of Love stamp set
A Jillian Vance Design - Stitched Dot Oval Backdrop die
Spellbinders - Diamond Plaid embossing folder

I invite you to visit our blog and join in on the gallery fun.  Thanks for visiting!

Seize the Birthday # 326

Hello from North Carolina, my Crafty Friends! After five months of planning, remodeling, packing, etc, etc, etc we are finally here.  I still have a few challenge cards to share before I go on a temporary leave.  It's going to take some time getting this house (and my craft room) up and ready.

Nancy S. is our host this fortnight and she's chosen Focal Animal as her Topping.  I pulled out a really old die from PaperTrey Ink for my simple card.

The kitty was die cut in pink, white and designer textured black cardstocks.  I added three narrow strips of the black to ground the kitty, added a few flowers and a stamped sentiment.  The card base is watercolor paper.

Supplies:
PaperTrey Ink - Kay's Cat die set
MFT - Housecats stamp set

I invite you to join us on our blog and in the gallery.  Animals are optional however birthday greetings are not.

Thanks for visiting!

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #274

Hello Crafty Friends!  It's the first Saturday of the month which can only mean it's time for a new Snarky prompt at the Sisterhood.  Drum Roll Please....

Our prompt for May is Gnome.

I pulled out my favorite Gnome die for this one.  He doesn't get a lot of use but he's sometimes the perfect supply for a card.  Besides that, he's cute.

I die cut him from some coral and green designer papers, adhered him to an embossed die cut circle and matted it in another designer paper.  The card base is watercolor paper.  The sentiment is tiny so I've enlarged it below.

Supplies:
Simon Says Stamp - Gnome for the Holiday set
Simon Says Stamp - Sassy Flaps stamp set
Spellbinders - Plaid Company embossing folder
Honeybee Stamps - designer paper pad

I invite you to visit our blog for more inspiration and hope to see your card in our gallery.  It's a month long challenge so give it some thought and join in!

Thanks for visiting!

Color Hues #132

Happy May 1st to all of my Crafty Friends!  As the time this posts we hope to be moved into our new home in North Carolina.  After over forty years in Florida we're ready for a change of scenery however the main incentive for moving is to be closer to our kids.  The past few months have been extremely hectic but hopefully we're on the home stretch now.

Enough of that.  Let's get to my Color Hues challenge card for this fortnight.  Stef is our host and she's chosen Yellow and Blue as her pairing.  Here's my card....

I felt like creating something whimsical this time around so I chose this fun fish as my starting point.  My focal grounding is a circle in a circle with some stamped waves and a few gems.  My fish was die cut in challenge colors and the same blue hue was chosen as my card base.  I thought this cute sentiment was a perfect one for my design.

Supplies:
Simon Says Stamp - Picture Book Fish die
Ellen Hutson - S'Whale stamp set (waves)
MFT - Cooler with You stamp set

I invite you to visit our blog.  We have a variety of blue and yellow examples to show you and hope you're inspired to play along!

Thanks for visiting!

Seize the Birthday # 325

Hello again my Crafty Friends!  I'm here today to share my card for our latest Seize the Birthday challenge.  Our fearless leader Nancy is the host and she's chosen "Primarily Pink" as our Topping.  As you will see below, I went all in.

This is an example of how a very simple design packs a lot of punch.  The background was created with one die, an embossing folder and a white pigment ink pad.  The sentiment is a stacked die cut.  Finally a few white gems for interest.  So easy!

Supplies:
The Greetery - Capsule Basics die set
The Greetery - Rosemal Reflections embossing folder
Memory Box - Happy Birthday Script die set
Honeybee Stamps - white gem stickers

I invite you all to visit the our blog for more pretty pink inspo.  We look forward to seeing your contribution to the gallery.  Just make sure it's a birthday card!

Color Hues #131

Hello Crafty Friends!  I'm here today to share a card created for the newest Color Hues challenge.  Sheri is our host and she's chosen the color pairing of Coral and Green.  It's truly one of my favorite combinations, so much so that I had it slated for my next pick but she beat me to it.  Definitely a win/win!

I began with colored cardstocks in our challenge colors along with a woodgrained kraft cardstock.  The trellis was die cut in triplicate, once in each of the colors.  I then puzzle pieced them for an inlaid die cut appearance.  I die cut the vase in smooth kraft cardstock and the plant leaves in green.  The sentiment was heat embossed in white and the focal then adhered to the card base.

Supplies:
Hero Arts - Trellis Window die set
Spellbinders - Propagated Plants die set
Spellbinders - Essential Sentiments stamp set
Spellbinders - Ceramic Vases die set

I invite you to visit our blog for more colorful designs.  We hope to inspire you to play along in the gallery.  Please remember that only hues of coral, green and approved neutrals are allowed.

Thanks for visiting!

Seize the Birthday #324

Hello, Crafty Friends!  It's time for a new Seize the Birthday challenge.  Linda is our host and she's chosen Spring Garden as her Topping.  I took this opportunity to use some new to me florals from The Stamp Market.

I overdid the die cutting a bit so I used the extras
to create three Thank You tags.

My designs and assembly processes are fairly straightforward.  After adhering the florals to the card panel I added a bit of die cut grass to the bottom, stamped the greeting and added lots of clear droplets in the open spaces.  Finally I added a narrow mat to the panel before adhering it to a white card base.

Supplies:
The Stamp Market - Dainty Daisies die set
Hero Arts - Thorn Tree and Grasses die
Flora and Fauna - Letterboard Stamp set

Tags --
The Stamp Market - Dainty Daisies
MFT - Gift Tag dies
Altenew - Many Thanks stamp set

I invite you to visit our blog where Jennie is our Surprise Party Guest.  I look forward to seeing your beautiful florals in our gallery!

Thanks for visiting!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers # 273

The Sisterhood is bringing you the most basic of monthly prompts.  We are looking for Snarky Birthday cards.  That's it.  No special techniques/themes/colors.  Just a the good old fashioned "Damn, You're Old" kinda cards.

Today I combined a fabulous Art Impressions image with a greeting from the Pissy Kitty line over at Unity.

Meet Maude!

I stamped a very unpleasant Maude onto a light beige piece of designer paper before coloring her with Copics.  I fussy cut out her bunny slippers so that I could slip a slightly darker piece of paper beneath her to mimic a floor.  This was adhered to yet another piece of designer paper before adhering it to gray card base.  The sentiment was stamped along the bottom and I added a bunch of tiny stars to the background to jazz it up just a bit.

Supplies:
Art Impressions - Super Maude
Unity Stamps - Snarky Cat Thoughts stamp set
Miscellaneous designer papers
Honeybee Stamps - Tiny Stars

The winner of our last challenge, Anne, is joining us today.  If you haven't yet played along with us,  this is the perfect time!  Snarky birthday cards are the best, in my opinion.  Come play along in the gallery!  (Make sure it's a birthday card!)

Thanks for visiting!

Color Hues #130

Hello Crafty Friends!  I'm here to share my card for the newest Color Hues challenge hosted by our fearless leader, Nancy.  I love her chosen pairing!

I once again chose to use watercolor paper for my base and design.  I'm just really loving the weight and the texture.  I mixed a hanging basket from one company with some leafty stems from another and I think they coordinate perfectly.  Add in a stamped sentiment and a few clear droplets and this baby was done.

Supplies:
The Greetery - Macramade for You die set
Photoplay - Sorry/Sympathy stamp set
MFT - Pots and Plants die set

I invite you to visit our blog for more inspiration.  We'd love to see your card in the gallery.  Just remember to use only these two colors along with approved neutrals.

Thanks for visiting!

Seize the Birthday #323

Hello my crafty friends!  I am the host of the Seize the Birthday challenge and have a very simple Topping for you all this fortnight.  I'd like you to Add a Tag to your birthday card design.  Easy Peasy.

My card is very CAS.  I changed things up a bit and used some old watercolor paper to create my tag and card base.  I've seen many crafters do this over the years but I had yet to try.  I'm rather digging it as you will see in some of my upcoming card designs.  I believe this particular paper is a Hobby Lobby brand from years ago.  Unfortunately my photo doesn't illustrate the cool texture of this watercolor paper.

I added some die cut greenery to the base and popped up the sentiment tag over top.  Some really old twine finished this one off.  I think this is a great design for a gender neutral card.

Supplies:
Spellbinders - Stylish Oval Birthday Wishes stamp set
MFT Stamps - Fab Greenery dies
Watercolor Paper for card base and tag

I invite you to visit our blog and play along in our gallery!  Whether or not you incorporate my Topping, remember to make it a birthday card.

Color Hues #129

Hello again, my crafty friends!
It is time for another color pairing for our Color Hues
challenge and I am convinced, now more than ever,
that my teammies have it out for me.

Yep.  PURPLE and Marigold.
(Thanks a lot Marcia.)

You want it.  You get it.
I'm EMBRACING it.

ROFL!

My favorite part of this card is that an entire sheet
of purple cardstock has left the craft room.

I began by embossing an A2 sized panel to create some background texture.  The florals were then die cut using the same purple cardstock (leaves/stems) and what is an orangey/yellow cardstock (florals).  (Don't believe the photo.)  I adhered the florals to the panel, added a sentiment strip and then adhered the finished panel to a purple card base.

Supplies:
Honeybee Stamps - Wildflower die set
The Greetery - Tear Strip Tags die set
Photoplay - Sorry/Sympathy stamp set
Spellbinders - EF (sorry, didn't record the name at time)

I invite you to visit our blog for more Purple and Marigold inspiration.  We are delighted to have a "Man in the House" so please give Chris some love while visiting.  As always, we'd love to see your card in our gallery!

Seize the Birthday #322

In celebration of spring our host JoAnn has chosen the color of Green as her Topping for this new Seize the Birthday challenge.  I have once again turned to the brilliance of Betsy Veldman, owner of The Greetery, to assist with my card design.  (I do not know her personally and have purchased all of her supplies myself but her horn definitely needs so tooting as she's absolutely spot on in her designs.)

Once again I've chosen my favorite green shade of cardstock, Pinefeather, from PaperTrey Ink as my card base.  I die cut the capsule oval, stamped the border and sentiment, and then ran it through my machine with an embossing folder.  I popped it up and added a few gems for interest.

Supplies:
The Greetery - Capsule Collection Floral Borders
The Greetery - Capsule Basics die set
Fun Stampers Journey - Inspire embossing folder

We have Jennie Maier joining us as our Surprise Party Guest so I hope you'll give her and the rest of the Design Team some appreciation.  We would love to see your card in our gallery!  If you'd like to be considered for a Guest spot be sure to use our Toppings.

Thanks for visiting!

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #272

Another month, another fabulous snarky challenge prompt!  While March is traditionally very warm here in Florida I am well aware of how downright freezing in can be in other parts of the world.  The Sisterhood would love to see your snarky cards with a COLD theme this month.

Is there any one of us that cannot relate to this poor Art Impressions patient?

We've all been there, right?

I included an inside sentiment on this one to make it a true Get Well card.

I stamped, colored and fussy cut out the image before adhering it to the patterned paper framed panel.  (I adhered the two patterns together before die cutting.  The frame is actually pieced four high for a bit of dimension.)  I stamped the sentiment and adhered the focal panel to a kraft cardbase.  The inside panel was stamped onto a coordinating panel of designer paper as well.

Art Impressions - Get Well stamp set
Hero Arts - Irreverent Elf Messages stamp set
Avery Elle - Postage Stamp die set

I invite you to play along with us!  I am truly looking forward to seeing your snarky interpretation of cold in our gallery.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Color Hues #128

The year 2026 keeps marching along, whether we're ready or not.
Karen is our host for this round of Color Hues and she's
chosen the perfect combination for St. Patty's Day so,
of course, I created a Christmas card.  Or two.

Betsy, the owner and brilliant designer behind The Greetery, included this fabulous tree die as a thank you in one of my orders.  Because I wanted to inlay the tiny diamonds into the design I cut it once in green and once in gold metallic.  Hence, a two-fer!

The beautiful oval dies are also of hers and they make for such a elegant cards.  Card one uses a pre-embossed specialty paper.  I added the green to the bottom for a place to heat emboss my sentiment.  (This cardstock is Pine Feather from Paper Trey Ink...one of my all time favs.)  The second card is a bit less fussy but equally as pretty in real life.

Supplies:
The Greetery -  Tree die (a freebie with purchase)
The Greetery - Capsule die collection
Spellbinders - To You and Yours stamp set
Tonic Studios - embossed designer paper
MFT - metallic gold paper

So whether you choose St. Patty, Christmas or something in between we would love to see your card in our gallery.  We have Darnell and Donna joining us on the blog.  Just remember to NOT add in colors that are not green, gold or an approved neutral.  Hope to see you there!

Thanks for visiting!

Seize the Birthday #321

Hello to all of my crafty friends!  I'm popping in here today to share a card created for the new Seize the Birthday challenge!  Jenny is our host this fortnight and has chosen Anything With Wings as our Topping.  This cute NBUS set had been gathering dust but when I noticed it included little butterflies I knew today was it's lucky day.

C'mon.  Who can resist Piglet and Tigger?

Tigger's orange fur dictated the color scheme of my card and turquoise seemed like a good pairing.  A little blush color for piglet and a bold designer paper and this card pretty much created itself.  Due to the size of these dies I did increase the size of my card.  I don't have the measurements in front of me but it's bigger than A2 and smaller than A7.

Supplies:
Spellbinders - Piglet and Pooh die set
Spellbinders - Tigger and Eeyore die set
A Jillian Vance Design - Make a Wish stamp set

I invite you to visit our blog for more birthday inspiration.  We invite you to share your new birthday cards with us in the gallery.  If you would like to be considered as a future Guest Designer remember to use our Topping in your design.

Thanks for visiting!

Color Hues #127

It's time for another color pairing over at the Color Hues challenge blog and this time around I have the pleasure of hosting.  I have chosen duo of Peach and Teal and actually have two cards to share with you today.

Both cards began with peach and teal cardstocks.  On my first card I die cut the daisy background panel in white and added tiny peach flowers to the centers.  The oval frame was cut in both white and peach as was the large focal flower.  The sentiment was heat embossed in white onto teal cardstock.  Card two utilized a BetterPress plate inked in white onto the teal background.  I added a die cut heart stamped with a simple sentiment along with a few black gems.

Supplies:
The Greetery - Capsule Filagree Borders die set
Spellbinders - Fresh Picked Vase Bouquet (tiny flowers)
Spellbinders - Propagation Garder sentiment stamp set
Honeybee Stamps - Delicate Daisy background die
Honeybee Stamps - Wildflower die set
Fun Stampers Journey - Inspire embossing folder
Spellbinders - My Heart Beats for You BetterPress plate

I invite you to check out our blog for some wonderful examples including a beautiful card created by Gundi, a recent winner and our guest this fortnite.  Remember to use only hues of peach and teal along with approved neutrals.  We hope to see your card in our gallery!

Thanks for visiting!

Seize the Birthday #320

Today I'm sharing a card created for our latest Seize the Birthday challenge.  Glenda is our host and she's chosen the combination of CAS and Die Cuts for her Topping.

I know CAS means different things to different crafters but in my example its taking on the role of lots of white space.  Or in this case, orange space.

My focal point is a two piece die cut frame created with a tone on tone orange card base.  I stamped, colored and fussy cut my hen and then stamped the two part sentiment.  A pretty simple CAS card with a sentiment that fits my mood lately...constantly struggling to keep up.  LOL!  (More on that later...all good stuff.)

Supplies:
Ellen Hutson - A Good Egg stamp set
A Jillian Vance Design - Oh Cluck stamp set

I invite you to visit our blog and hope you're inspired to add your CAS/Die Cut creation to our gallery.  Toppings are optional but birthday cards are not.

Thanks for visiting!

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #271

The Sisterhood has the perfect February challenge for us, combining both Valentine's Day and Snark.  We're calling it Black, Black Heart...aka, the anti-Valentine.  Here's my take on the challenge.

I combined a simple cat die with a snarky sentiment for the perfect off beat Valentine's Day card.  I added some dry embossing to the heart as well as the white background panel to give this card a bit more interest and popped on a few gold pearls to finish it off.

Supplies:
Spellbinders - Kitty Cats die set
Unity Stamps - Snarky Cat Thoughts stamp set
FSJ - Inspire EF
Hero Arts - Infinity Hearts die set

I invite you to visit our blog for more snarky Valentine inspiration.  Upload your card to our gallery and join the fun!
