Seize the Birthday #229

Are you ready to make some birthday cards?  That happens to be what we do best at the Seize the Birthday challenge blog and we're starting out the new year in a big way.  My friend and former CC&S DT teammate Vicky Hayes is joining us for the next two months as our Surprise Party Guest.  I adore everything she creates and am excited to be working with her once again.

Our first topping is actually the color combination of blue and gray.  If you're not a toppings kind of crafter any birthday card is appreciated however I do love a good challenge and totally went with it.

I have a box of new (to me) goodies sitting off the side of my desk and I am going to try my darnedest to put them to use.  I chose a cute rodent stamp set for today's card.

I began by coloring my rodent (mouse or rat???) in blues and grays adding in a bit of white gel pen accents to the finished image.  I used white pigment ink to stencil the brick background, grounding the piece with black and white stamped flooring.  I dug through my stash and found a blank sign to which I added the stamped hearts and word Pizza.  I positioned the rodent onto the piece and added a narrow black frame cut from glossy black cardstock.  The sentiment was heat embossed in white onto gray cardstock and die cut with the accompanying banner die.  I centered the entirety onto a heavy weight white card base.

Here's a look at the inside of the card....

Supplies:
Lalaland - Pizza My Heart stamp set
Avery Elle - Banner Bits stamp/die
Waffle Flower - Snail Mail stamp set
MFT - English Brick Wall stencil
Ink Blot Shop - Get Grounded stamp set

I hope you'll visit our blog for more inspiration.  You have until noon on Tuesday January 18th EST to play along.

Thank you so much for spending a bit of your day with me.

Jules
