Father's Day Cards

Another quick drive by post to share two Father's Day cards, one for hubby and one for my dad.

My husband is a car addict who has recently turned his attention to electric vehicles.  He just test drove the VW ID.4 which is a totally electric compact SUV.  There may be one in our future but since shopping for cars is way more fun to him than actually purchasing cars it will probably be way down the road. In the meantime I made him this shiny new SUV.  :-)

The steps to making this are really simple.  The top portion of the card front was blended out with blue Distress Oxide.  I die cut and assembled the SUV from navy, black and silver cardstocks, adding a layer of glossy accents over top.  The simple sentiment was stamped below the blended line.

My father's favorite couch time activity is monitoring the stock market. I wanted his card to reflect this but I don't have (nor am I aware of) any stock market type stamps/dies.  I did a quick internet search and came across a graphic design that I worked into his card.

I used the negative pieces from a zig zag die to create the lines in both red and green cardstock.  I adhered them to a piece of black cardstock to mimic the ups and downs of the market.  I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto the black card panel and added a narrow border of b/w diagonally lined patterned paper before adhering it to my white card base.

Two very simple cards for two of my favorite men.  My six year old grandson is here visiting from North Carolina and together we created a card for his father (my son) which I will share later, along with two other cards he created this week.

Supplies:
Card 1 - Cottage Cutzs Cars and Moving Truck die set
Avery Elle - Mom and Dad stamp set

Card 2 - The Greetery - Open Basework die

Continue to stay safe and healthy my friends.   _____________________________________________________________________________

  2. Two very cleverly personalized cards. I think it's a good thing that the car shopping is more fun - it's definitely more economical! The stock market graph is brilliant.
