Hello my crafty friends! I am the host of the Seize the Birthday challenge and have a very simple Topping for you all this fortnight. I'd like you to Add a Tag to your birthday card design. Easy Peasy.
My card is very CAS. I changed things up a bit and used some old watercolor paper to create my tag and card base. I've seen many crafters do this over the years but I had yet to try. I'm rather digging it as you will see in some of my upcoming card designs. I believe this particular paper is a Hobby Lobby brand from years ago. Unfortunately my photo doesn't illustrate the cool texture of this watercolor paper.
I added some die cut greenery to the base and popped up the sentiment tag over top. Some really old twine finished this one off. I think this is a great design for a gender neutral card.
Supplies:
Spellbinders - Stylish Oval Birthday Wishes stamp set
MFT Stamps - Fab Greenery dies
Watercolor Paper for card base and tag
I invite you to visit our blog and play along in our gallery! Whether or not you incorporate my Topping, remember to make it a birthday card.

I just LOVE this CAS card! Pinning it for inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love this clever CAS design! I love putting tags on cards:) I can see the gorgeous texture when I zoom in.
ReplyDeleteJewel thanks so much for this challenge i'm really enjoying your cast take on this card it's very classy.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is a beautiful design for any gender and I love it a lot! I can see the texture perfectly when I click for close up. I do love me some texture! Jules, thanks for this fun challenge theme, and I'm happy to be guesting with you for this go around!
ReplyDeleteI can make out the texture of the paper just a little bit - and it looks awesome. I agree - the design is versatile as well - if I adopt it, I would probably want to free hand watercolor on the base and use the tag for the sentiment, just like you have. It's a great design and a wonderful card.
ReplyDeleteCAS and great. Love your card Jules. I see the texture of the paper and it looks great. That is a nice idea to try.
ReplyDeleteI love your CAS design and I love using watercolored paper because of the texture. It is going to be a great gallery! Please let me know if I can do anything for you!
ReplyDeleteJules, thanks for the challenge, although I had a bit of struggle with this one but was finally able to make my card. Lol. Such a lovely CAS card. I remember using linen paper because of the texture, now it seems with blending we are using smooth paper more. Jules, the sentiment I used on my card is a very old PTI stamp set Balloon Bash.
ReplyDeleteLovely CAS card Jules, I love textured bases too, adds so much interest but keeps things CAS, thankyou for the fun challenge, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteI may have said this before but I love this card sooooooo much. Beautiful CAS perfection.
