Seize the Birthday #314

Hello Crafty Friends.  For those in the northern hemsphere I'd love to know if fall has hit your area yet.  There is no such thing in Florida so I need to live through you.

Today I'm sharing a card I just whipped up for our latest Seize the Birthday challenge where our fearless leader Nancy has chosen Clean and Simple with a Stencil.  I know CAS means different things to different crafters....such as No Layers, No Embellishments, Lots of White Space, etc.  Since I am a failure at single layer cards I chose to add a stenciled and stamped white panel onto a green card base.  There is not much white space however it is entirely flat and devoid of embellishments.

I chose a beautiful but underutilized set of stencils (5 in all) along with a simple stamped sentiment.  I thought this sentiment design was perfect with the drape of the hanging florals.

Supplies:
Pink Fresh Studio - Hanging Garden stencil set
The Greetery - Everyday Labels stamp set
Catherine Pooler inks

In addition to Johanna who will be here until year's end we have previous winners Milla and Bonnie joining us on the blog today.  Please come take a look around the blog.  We'd love for you to play along.  CAS/Stenciling is optional.  A birthday greeting is not.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Jules

  1. Very pretty stenciled card Jules. I too have a hard time with CAS but do mange to do one now and then. :)

  2. Such a pretty card and as I too occasionally have trouble with CAS cards I can understand your words. I really like how your sentiment fits into and under the florals.

  3. This is just one of my favorite cards of yours, Jules. Well stenciled and the sentiment fits like a glove!

  4. I love your description and your execution of a drape of flowers on your card. I need to remember to use something like this on my next card.

  5. Your hanging garden is so pretty, Jules, and I love that sentiment! It's starting to look like Fall here and we had some Fall weather. Unfortunately we're back to summer now, but hopefully it won't last as long as the last one!

  6. I’m the opposite with CAS - sometimes I can’t bring myself to add anything! I love your drapey flowers, and you’re right, the sentiment fits the space perfectly.
We’ve got the autumn temperatures, and the leaves are just staring to fall, after a false start when we had very dry weather followed by very wet weather. 🤷‍♀️

  7. We are definitely having Fall weather today. In fact, for the whole week, it is supposed to rain here in the PNW, which is really needed. Your card is so beautiful with the Hanging Garden stencil set. I have that stencil and not sure it gets much love either.
