Hello Crafty Friends! Have you ever made a card that you were really proud of only to discover that you sent it out before taking a photo? Yeah, me either. I mean, who would be that careless? LOL!!!
I just returned from a week's vacation in South and North Carolina knowing that I was in good shape with my DT gigs only to discover that I gave the card to my mom to send to her BFF. UGH. Fortunately I had recorded my supplies in my planner so I could recreate it. (The day before!) Unfortuately this one didn't turn out quite as nice. :-(
AND...had I looked at my teammies cards ahead of time I would have switched out my colors. Visit our blog and you'll see what I mean. Great minds and all that.
Ok. I'm done whining. Here's my (second) card for this fortnight's Seize the Birthday Challenge where Ashwini has chosen the Topping of Add a Frame.
I used two nesting mini slimline dies to create my frame which is stacked four high. To one of the inner pieces I added some soft background blending as well as a stamped sentiment. I assembled the flower and bird as per the packaging example and added a few pearls as embellishments. The final card size is 3"x6". I should also state that I was inspired by one of Jill Foster's designs for Penny Black.
If you use my Spellbinders Affiliate Links to make any purchase it earns

Supplies:

I think your second card is beautiful and I am sure the first one was also. I love the colors you used with the pretty flower and bird. The ink blending in the background is perfect. Love the slimline frame also. Great card Jules.
ReplyDeleteJules, this is so pretty with the bright blue bird in the peach flower. Lovely card. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha, I shouldn't laugh jewels but I am because I've done the same thing. Only I thought I was the only one that did things like that. Glad you recorded your supplies so that you could recreate it. It's such a lovely card I wouldn't mind having two in my stash.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite Spell dies for sure. I think round two looks amazing so one must have been really something. It sounds like we all have done that very thing a time or two. I on the other hand rarely write down my supplies, I need to do that more. Wonderful card!
ReplyDeleteI bet your Mum's friend loved the card, it's gorgeous! Love the colours and perfectly placed bling, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteOh, gorgeous! With card designs like this, you can make not only second but a complete set of them! That birdie must have been taking a little nap after a snack of nectar! Most charming, Jules!
ReplyDeleteHaha, been there, done that with family cards. Or - I manage to photograph them, then post them without writing inside them. Ask my kids.
ReplyDeleteLove how your second version turned out.
Definitely have done that before!
ReplyDeleteLove the colours you chose! The simple frame and long narrow card all come together for a really elegant card. Really pretty card my friend. Hope you enjoyed your travels.
