We have a new challenge for you at the Seize the Birthday
blog where Cathy has chosen our next topping.
Use of a stencil is optional but we do ask that you stick to the birthday theme.
I pulled out a stencil that contained several diameters of circles,
selected three colors of dye ink and proceeded to
ink blend a white card panel with overlapping circles.
Once I was happy with the background I stamped the greeting onto a small frame adding a die cut bow on top and some additional ink blending at the bottom. I matted the panel onto black cardstock leaving a narrow border, adhered the tag to the panel and then the panel to the card front. I think this is a great gender neutral color combination, don't you?
I invite you to visit our blog and hope the team's examples inspire you to do some stenciling on your next birthday card. Be sure to share it with everyone in our gallery!
Supplies:
MFT Basic Shapes Circle stencil

Gorgeous colours and a fab design! Jo x
ReplyDeleteWhat a nifty idea to use the circles for a background. I love the color combo. We are leaving for Florida next Wednesday. Yahoo!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great combo of blue and green! Awesome design as well.
ReplyDeleteAwesome card and color choices, what a great idea for those masculine cards (that I personally have trouble making!) the circles are a great way to get color but adds so much to the card!
ReplyDeleteI always love DOTS! :)
ReplyDeleteI love dots of any kind as they were my mom's favorite! Such a gorgeous choice of colors resulting in an awesome birthday card! Enjoy your Sunday!
ReplyDeleteGreat card and would be perfect for a guy. Love the blended and overlapped circles. Pretty color combo.
ReplyDeleteIt could be a great masculine card too! The bokeh effect of the stenciled background looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteGreat design Jules, would look great in lots of colours, love these ones though, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteYes, you can send it to anyone. And its so wonderful - I always have a hard time making backgrounds like this (bokeh effects and the like) - I can only sigh and appreciate others that can make it so easily! I love those colors as well, and I love how you've carried the colors over to the sentiment panel as well - clever, that! :)
ReplyDeleteLove your colour choices - the overlapping circles look fantastic. Agreed - very gender neutral. Terrific card.
