CAS Colours and Sketches #431

August is upon us and this being the first Tuesday of the month, we have a new color challenge for you over at the CAS Colours and Sketches blog.  Bhavya is our host this month and she's chosen this wonderful trio for us to try.

For our color challenges, you must use all of the stated challenge colors. You may also use neutrals
such as white, ivory, black, brown, grey, or metallics; however, no other colors should be added to
your card. We use Stampin' Up color names for reference, but you are welcome to use any other
companies' products as long as you match the challenge colors as closely as possible.

Here's where my creative process led me.

I'm not sure I'd want to eat an ice cream cone in these colors but hey! it's a card and I can make it any color I choose.  :-)

I began by stamping and Copic coloring my cute little image with the challenge colors.  I die cut and stacked the "sweet" in gray cardstock and positioned it so that the hungry little mouse was sitting on the "t".  I then stamped the sub-sentiment down below, cut off a bit of the left side and added a strip of b/w striped paper before popping it up onto a blue card base.

I invite you to check out our blog and come play along.  I'd love to see your card in our gallery.

  1. What a beautiful color combination, and fantastically sweet card, Jules! Great take on the challenge! I can almost taste that "sweetness"! hugs, de

  2. I love your positioning on this card Julie - that little mouse looks so excited he's just jumped over the sticky up bit on the T! This is maybe not my first choice of ice cream but hey, I bet there'd be people queuing up for bubble gum ice cream with extra choc flake in a raspberry cone!! Vicky x

  3. I'm using my imagination, Julie, and 'taste' a red velvet waffle cone, and raspberry ice cream! What's not to love? I do love this darling card!

  4. It is so adorable Julie. I love your card design with great colouring and that stripe on the edge. Hugs xo
