It's time for a new monthly challenge over at the Happy Little Stampers blog where the only rule is to use a die on your card.
I just love being part of this design team because it's a great opportunity to pull out my dies and create "paper doll" like cards. I find the act of paper piecing dies even more therapeutic than coloring and this challenge is perfect for that. Mind you, any use of a die qualifies for the challenge however I like to take it to the extreme.
As you can see, the focal point of my design is the large mailbox. I die cut it from navy cardstock and then shadowed in some of the vertical lines with a dark blue Copic marker. The stamp I used to adorn the mailbox is actually intended to go on the back of an envelope but I thought it would be cute here. (Heat embossed in white.) I added in some additional die cut envelopes and labels to finish off the box. I embossed the white background panel to give it a bit of interest and cut it down vertically to leave a margin of navy card base showing from each side. I white heat embossed the sentiment (again, meant for the outside of an envelope) onto a wide strip of red cardstock which I positioned horizontally on the card, adding the mailbox over top. I finished off the card with some red hearts punched from the same red cardstock. I think this will work as an any occasion card good for hellos, birthdays, miss you, etc.
I invite you to visit our blog for more inspiration and hope to see your card in our gallery. Remember, the use of any die on your card qualifies.
