Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #184

Where did April go?  I can personally say that I spent a good deal of my month "on the road, again."  You're Welcome. :-)  Audiobooks have definitely been my best friend lately.

Edna and The Sisterhood have a new challenge for your contemplation.  This fortnight we'd like for you to explore your Outdoorsy side and create a card with the theme.

Outdoorsy can mean a lot of things depending on where you live.  I really should have chosen a beach theme but instead I went with an activity that I actually despise.  Camping.  I know many of my Sistahs love to camp but it has never been my thing and never will be.  BUT!!!....it inspired the snark for today's card.

Ready for the rest of the sentiment?

Bwhahahahaha!  Yes, this would totally be me (and probably has been if truth be told.)

I have no idea how a tent die ended up in my stash (must have been a really great sale) but it was perfect for my card.  I cut it out three times, once with a patterned paper and twice from cardstock to give it some weight.  I rummaged through my border dies and found the zig zags and little x's which I used as decoration.  The branch die came as part of the teepee/wigwam/tent set so I used it to create a bit of grounding.  I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed it in white onto black cardstock and used a banner die to cut it out.  (I actually did a bit of stamp surgery as the original sentiment says "I'm sorry for what I said before I had my coffee.")  The scene was adhered to a piece of woodgrain cardstock that I splattered with black acrylic paint.  The vertical edges are more bits of patterned paper.  The inside sentiment was computer generated but it should totally be a stamp, right Michele?

Come check out our blog, give my teammies some love and join in on the fun!  Snark is greatly appreciated but not required.

  2. I have a few of those stamps/dies that I question if I was in my right mind when I bought them, but like you they work for a challenge at some point. Super card and sentiment. (when we were tenting there were kids involved anything said was silent)

  4. Oh my goodness, Jules - this is fantastic! I'd bet I could match that language mentioned in your fun sentiment!
We actually bought a tent - used it once for a trial run in our yard - that was enough for my back!

  5. I am one of those camping lovers - so I totally appreciate your card :)
I have said my fair share (probably more) of swears putting up a tent or the trailer or the dining tent - or any other camping equipment lol
Also, not sure if you are into them but I also find podcasts are a great way to pass the time on a road trip!

  6. This is so good! And of course you would have a tent die, why not? Obviously just waiting for this challenge. And it's so much easier to be snarky about camping than it is about the beach, I find...

  7. Super snarky card Jules... I used to love to camp under canvas and now prefer the caravan - much more comfortable, Robyn
