Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #182

You know how I said I wouldn't be traveling this week?  Well, scratch that.  I ended up taking another last minute 3.5 hour (each way) road trip to north central Florida on Thurs/Friday and wasn't sure I was going to make the deadline for today's Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge.   But woohoo!  I'm here and breathing a bit easier.  So what's the new prompt for this fortnight?

D is for Distress

And truth be told, I'm feeling a bit distressed myself right now.

Please forgive my quick post as my card is quite literally Hot Off the Presses.  I know this is not unusual for some of my Sistahs however those who know me well know that I'm a planner and usually have my assignments completed weeks/months ahead of time.

Enough babbling....

The first thing I did was paint a panel of kraft colored woodgrain cardstock with Distress Paint in the color Picket Fence, ie, white.  I added several layers of paint, allowing it to dry in between coats.  While it was drying I stamped, colored (Copic) and fussy cut out the donkey image.  I also die cut the fence and grass, adding in a bit of distress ink and water droplets for some texture.

When my panel was dry I grabbed a piece of sandpaper and DISTRESSED the heck out of my perfectly painted panel.  I am loving the look and am rather pleased with my last minute idea.  (pat, pat.)  I stamped the sentiment on the lower portion of the grassy knoll, adhered some googly eyes to my @*#! and then assembled the card.  I stamped a second sentiment on the inside of the card.

Supplies:
Your Next Stamp - So Sorry Donkey stamp set
MFT - Rolling Hills die set
Ellen Hutson - Woodgrain cardstock
Ranger - Distress Paint in Picket Fence

I do hope you'll stop by our blog and check out what my fellow Sisters and Queen Tristan have created.

  5. Love how you distressed the woodgrain panel. And it's a great card - maybe you should try last-minute crafting more often! (Haha, I bet not.)
