Guest Designer - Seize the Birthday #204

I hope everyone is having a good week. It's looking very scary out there once again so I'm feeling very fortunate to live in sunny Florida where we can enjoy the outdoors.  I also very grateful to have a home based hobby to keep me busy, safe and out of trouble.

Today I'm here to share my second card as November's Guest Designer over at the Seize the Birthday challenge blog where the prompt this fortnight is Sparkle and Shine.

I have a love/hate relationship with glitz, shine, shimmer and sparkly cards.  I adore the look and I love to make them however my photographs never do them justice.  I'm going to ask you to use your imagination and see this as the bright and beautifully sparkly card that it is in real life.  :-)

I began with HUGS sentiment.  I stamped it out in Versamark ink and then heat embossed it in silver glitter powder. I chose two smaller sentiments that would allow me to position my full sentiment vertically according to size.  These were both stamped in a crisp black pigment ink onto a white card panel.  I ran the panel through my die cutting machine with the swirled cutting plate to create the textured background.  I adhered this panel to metallic silver cardstock (again, so hard to see in the photo) and then again to a 110 lb white card base. It was at this point that I adhered the HUGS using dimensional adhesive.  I finished it off with more sparkle and shine using silver pearls and crystal clear droplets.  I promise it's much prettier in person.  Oh ... and the inside says "because you can never have too many."  I really love that message, especially in today's trying times.

Supplies:
Papertrey Ink - Big Hugs stamp set
Papertrey Ink - Bold Basics stamp set
Altenew - Dotted Swirl cover plate
MFT - silver cardstock
Nuvo - Silver Moonlight Glitter embossing powder
Ellen Hutson - crystal clear droplets
Studio Katia - foiled silver pearls

I invite you to visit the Seize the Birthday blog, discover some inspiration, leave a few comments and play along with us.  Many thanks to the design team for inviting me to play along!

Stay safe and healthy my friends!
