CAS Colours and Sketches #385

Hello Tuesday!  We have a new sketch up at the CAS Colours and Sketches challenge blog.  There are lots of possibilities with this one.

I was in a flamingo mood so of course I managed to work one into my design.  :-)

I started by creating an stamped gradient of green palm leaves using three different colors of green dye inks.  I then die cut the piece using a banner die.  I die cut the flamingo from pink card stock and did a bit of shading along the edges with ink.  The sentiment was heat embossed in pink onto a banner of olive card stock.  I double matted the elements onto a card base of Neenah Solar White 110 lb card stock and finished it off with three sequins and some transparent drops.  Here's a closer look at the details.

Simon Says Stamp - flamingo die
Fun Stampers Journey - Palm Fronds stamp
Ellen Hutson - Handful stamp sentiment
The Stamp Market - dye inks and card stock

Stay safe and healthy my friends!

  1. You have me reaching for those palm fronds today, Jules! Wow that stamping is fantastic... well it's all fantastic!
A Flamingo mood? hmmm. They must always be happy, in fact, tickled pink, right?

  2. I'd say a flamingo mood was perfect for this sketch, love it! The palm leaf flag banner is gorgeous.

  3. Beautiful card, Julie! Love that flamingo on that palm background.

  4. Stamping palm leaves behind the flamingo is absolutely perfect!!! I love all the details in this card! Gorgeous!!
