It's Tuesday and that means it's time for another challenge over at the CAS Colour & Sketches blog. This time around we are using a sketch from Karen.
I recently missed the birthday of a friend. (For the record, I didn't forget the birthday. I just didn't get the card sent out due to an unplanned weekend trip. Just want to be clear on that. LOL!) I filed that original card away to use at another time and created a new card specific to the occasion. I gave it a rustic feel since the recipient is male but I think it would work for anyone.
The stamps are all from MFT. The striped paper is from Memory Box (am I the only one who didn't know they had their own paper line???). The background frame impression as well as the note card are from Paper Trey Ink. (The frame is actually a die that I ran through my machine with an embossing pad to create the texture without actually cutting through the card stock.)
I hope some of you will play along with us this week. I'll be back next Tuesday with another color challenge.

Great masculine card, Julie. I hope your friend understand the situations. And I must try embossing with cutting die as you did. Thank you for a great tip!
ReplyDeleteThat's such a fun card! I never have good luck trying to emboss with dies. I might need a thicker embossing pad. ;)
ReplyDeleteI need to replace my embossing pad too - especially as you've really inspired me with your embossed die frame Julie! The expression on that little squirrel's face is priceless! Vicky x
ReplyDeleteThis is so adorable, Julie! Great coloring and love the embossed frame!
ReplyDeleteYou are not the lone ranger on that paper, Jules... I surely was clueless!
ReplyDeleteLOve your guy card - perfect for a guy, and late wishes! LOve the debossed frame, and those brown stripes - I may have to look into that line of papers!

Julie I love everything about this card - the image , the paper, the embossing, your coloring! It’s terrific!
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling card.
