Happy Little Stampers - February Anything Goes with Dies Challenge

A new month means new challenges over at the Happy Little Stampers challenge blog.  The HLS group actually has five different month long challenges in addition to the Die Cut challenge that I bring you here on my blog.  With Watercolor, CAS, Christmas and Stencil challenges there's bound to be something for everyone.  Definitely check out the blog when creating.  Today I'm bringing you a new die cut card for their Anything Goes With Dies challenge.

Anything Goes is just like it sounds.  If you use a die cut on your card,
you've completed the challenge requirements.  Simple as that.

I decided to combine my desire to create Christmas cards all year long with my Design Team duty this month and created a fun little snow globe shaker card.

I started this card with a snowglobe die set. The top layer is an ink blended background leftover from a previous card.  (I love using my scraps!)  I adhered a layer of acetate behind the blue top layer.  I then glued and stacked four die cut snowglobes together, adding the evergreens tucked snow drifts to the bottom most layer.  After adhering the stacked layers to my black card panel I added the mica flakes to the center and then adhered the blue acetate layer over top, enclosing the mica flakes into the globe.  I white heat embossed the sentiment onto a black cardstock banner and popped it up on the card just underneath the globe.  I really love this nighttime feel and must say, these mica flakes make for some awesome faux snow.

I hope you'll join in on the challenges.  If you use a die cut, link it to this monthly challenge!

Supplies:
PoppyStamps - Snowglobe Kit die set
Impression Obsession - Evergreen dies
MFT Stamps - Snowglobe Sentiments stamp set
Ranger - Mica Flakes

It's a New Year!  Continue to stay safe and healthy my friends.
