Somewhere Over the Rainbow....

Today I'm playing along with another challenge at The Library Craft Challenge blog where this week's book inspiration is The Rainbow by D.H. Lawrence.  I have not read it personally but apparently it was quite scandalous when written in 1915.  There appear to be many versions of the cover but this is the one Marina chose as her inspiration.

An Unrushed Walk Through A Very Different Time - The Rainbow by D.H. Lawrence | Byte The Book

I once again took the color palette as my inspiration and came up with this card.

I created the look of painted stripes by swiping each individual stripe on the large rubber stamp with Distress Oxide in a horizontal motion.  (You can see that my stamp is very well loved.)  The Happy Birthday sentiment is cut from a large die set from The Stamp Market.  I added a few drops of Glossy Accents to finish it off.  I think this card will work for both genders but I will most likely save it for a masculine birthday since guy cards seem to be so difficult for me to create.

Supplies:

The Stamp Market Time to Celebrate Die Set - appears to be discontinued, sorry.
Distress Oxides
Ranger Glossy Accents

Thanks again!

Jules

  1. Fantastic! Julie, your swiping gave such wonderful interest to those stripes, and wow, is that a fab birthday greeting! When we play together, may I borrow it? xx
